Now thats very funny when they filled my data on their centre where is it vanished. Then i asked them to add my friends and family list 3 person on warid and they said they can not do it either until your data arrives. CALLING HELP LINE. Its fun as many times you can only listen balance when you hit zero to talk to the customar care call do not go through. But i kept on trying and at last once it was gone through after some 10 or 15 minute hold. ONE MORE PROBLEM. I am on 6600. So when i insert some other sim say telenor and manually search the networks i see the all four others but i do not see the warid signal. when i insert the warid sim then there is no signal. Then i restart set 2 or three times and then signal appears. Now again when i search the net works manually then i see only warid but no other network signal . Why is so happening. Please some body explain it to me. Regards. Umer

Umerhayat, yes warid might be charging Rs 3 if u download anything less then 200 KB. One thing which is still unclear is whether there are any inter-connect charges if call is made to someother network from warid.

My personal opinion is Telenor is providing a much better service than Warid. I may not be the true comparison but in its early days of lauch of Telenor, its services were not as bad as warid is providing right now.

Guys, Warid has just launched and like everyone else, they are supposed to face problems. No one enters the market perfectly. Afterall, everyone learns from their mistakes.

As far as the rates are concerned, please do not look at GPRS only. The general rates being offered by Warid are the lowest in the market. Instead of ridiculing them, kindly offer some assistance and let me know how they can improve their services in the near future and I will pass on the message to my father who is one of the Board Directors.

Like Bank-Alfalah, Warid is committed to providing the best service possible and let me assure you they will not back out of any commitment.

In this forum, I have noticed some people having problems catching the Warid signal. Also, some people have suggested the helpline is of no use. Furthermore, others have mentioned the GPRS service is not yet functioning. All these problems alongwith other complaints will be forwarded to the management and I am expecting more suggestions from all of you.

Thanks very much,

Regards

msheikh

COPIED FROM => http://zainman.blogspot.com/2005/05/battle-begins.html

The Battle Begins!

Most of the readers probably know by now that Warid telecom has commenced its operations and connections are now available in 28 cities of Pakistan. With the final competitor now entering the colloseum, what should we buy? Which telecom firm can provide us with the most reliable service and not empty our pocket too much? Anyway, today it’s Warid all over the city so let’s talk about it first and see what it has to offer! WARID RATES Type: Pre Paid Activation Tax: Rs 300 Free Air Time: 118.58 VAS Line Rent (Optional): 50 Category Peak off Peak Rs/min Friends and Family ( A maximum of 5 allowed) 1.50 Rs/min 1.00 Rs/min Warid to Warid 2.00 Rs/min 1.50 Rs/min Warid to PTCL and other local operators 3.00 Rs/min 2.75 Rs/min International Zone 1 9.00 Rs/min 8.00 Rs/min International Zone 2 18.00 Rs/min 17.00Rs/min Free Minutes 0 Free SMS 0 Free MMS 5 x 100 Kb Free Wap/GPRS 1 MB SMS Warid to Warid 0.50 Rs/min 0.50 Rs/min SMS (Other Local operators) 1.00 Rs/min 1.00 Rs/min SMS (International) 5.00 Rs/min 5.00 Rs/min Content(SMS and MMS) 0 0 MMS (per 100 Kb) 3.00 Rs/min 3.00 Rs/min Internet Wap (per 200 Kb) 3.00 Rs/min 3.00 Rs/min Prices exclusive of all govt. Taxes VAS is only offered if the line rent for VAS is paid on a monthly basis. Notes apply to all packages: Security deposits would be as follows National: Rs 1000 International: Rs 5000 International Roaming: Rs 20,000
Pretty competitive and intelligent rates I would say! For just another person who wants a decent yet simple mobile connection, I would say Warid is not a bad choice but neither is Telenor and we should keep in mind here that Telenor has fulfilled its promise and kept the rates and Tariff guide easy to understand with absolutely no hidden costs whatsoever and many have been disappointed from what Warid has brought to the market.Warid on the other hand has somewhat twisted rates to make customers. There are some obvious perks of a Warid Prepaid ZEM connection like no Charges for Voice mail and a pretty much flat rate for other operators and the obvious massive attraction of a very cheap rate for International calls to the U.S.A and Europe. Call waiting, conferencing etc is obviously there but I’m having to mention this since Ufone prepaid customers like me don’t even get those as a part of our package plan! The SIM cost is reasonable I would say because with Ufone giving a free connection with every Rs.250 card nowadays, people will still prefer Warid. And then there’s an obvious stupid factor that because Warid is owned by a Sheikh from Dubai, people here think that the investments will be great and the service will be good, let me remind us all here that it is a business for him and he will carry it on as a business, Warid is not here to do us brotherly favors but to provide us for what we pay to it! Telenors FREE MMS and SMS promotional offer.

But WARID launched there testing service at 23 march. So now saying that at launch there will be problems is lame excuse. what were they testing from 23 march till now. is any one got gprs activated and working then tell about it soon that how is speed and every thing a complete review please.
Is there some command like in jazz *111# and in the telenor *444# to check the balance on screen or we have to listen it like we listen on ufone. please some one tell me soon

Hi again. Telenor Gprs now not working for two days for me. I tried every thing from clearing cache, restart set and delete old settings and get the settings again. But non is working for me. Most funny part is that i called 3 times to the help line and got different answers every time. First and second time they told that they have no problem and no complain from fsd of any kind about gprs. So i kept on trying different things and wasted about half hour. But last night when i called they told that ptcl fibre optic is cut so some users are expericocing problems. I do not know whats going on. But telenor gprs down for me for two days in fsd. So now i am sitting back relaxing and using warid gprs. Regards. Umer

If i connect and then just disconnect the gprs on the warid after down loading few kb. It cast 3.80 rupees. And there are also the gprs monthly charges which are 50 rupees per month. So gprs is real time nightmare on warid. But yes call rates are good. But as i use gprs a lot so unit warid do not reduce the charges or give some monthly unlimited package of the gprs i will jump back to the telenor when its gprs work for me. Because its third day and its not connecting for me. Today help line say that gprs is ok. But on my sim its still not working. So may be my sim got effective or what i do not know about it. Some body please help me about it with some tips. Regards. Umer

@SE7. Ok man good for you. Here for last three days when ever when i try to connect the message comes that no gprs network area coverage. But today when i try to connect then G appears and keep on blinking and then message comes Gprs net work busy. So it can not be busy for hours and hours. There is some definate problem with it. What ever. Most sad thing is that help line people guide you wrong. For first two days they told me no problem in our Gprs in fsd so clear cache ,reset you hand set ,down load settings again and blah ,blah, blah. So i am sick of there bull shit now. YAMIGO some of my net friends have k700i also. They use it and they say its good. I my self as nokia fan use agile messenger and its good. I am satisfied with its performance. As i have not used yamigo so i can not compare both but hope some one who used both tell us difference soon. Regards. Umer
