yep nothin better than gettin on a good road (one with few bumps coz damn that seat doesnt giv nethin) an jus goin hell for leather on it... which amazingly doesnt take much coz of its tires and gears.... unlike mountain bikes where most of ur energy is lost through the tires havin too much tread for roads.... but each to there own... my bike wouldnt go off road at all whereas mountain bikes can an vice versa mine is amazin an fast with half as much effort than a mountain bike... @voda jon Even I own a racer, but the problem is we have extremely bad roads in India and buying it was a foolish decision. So I'm now ready to switch over to a MTB

i dont go on them.... i'm currently tranin for the Manchester to Blackpool ride in July, the Manchester to Liverpool ride in june and the Manchester 100 Mile ride in September (i'm movin home so rides r gonna b in northwest from now on!) so i got a busy few months ahead of me!!!

They r all fully organised rides as well so none of the roads will b in a bad condition...

Fingers crossed i can do all 3 of them! [addsig]

How many average cycling kilometers a day is decent for keeping you fit?

I ride 25km a day to and from work, and at weekends I go proper off road riding. I find that keeps me fit enough. One solution to bad roads I've found is to use a full sus mtb with slick 1 inch tyres. It's about 2mph faster on average speed than knobblies and means I can still bunny hop and do Xups on the speed bumps!

Hi ij, thanks for the info, but dont u think the 1 inch tires will be really bad on potholes and really bad roads (the roads in india can be pathetic!)

Pls take a look at this

http://www.ticyclesindia.com/Hercules/gearedbikes/EzyUltra.html

and gimme ur comments on it.

I know its not that gr8 but the best u can get in India!

hey ayush,
havent been here for a while.
no i dont use any energy drinks, i prefer more natural energy sources like bananas, berries, and other high in sugar friuts. if i am really tired and need a more stronger pick me up ill have a red bull though.

was out all day yesterday with my mates riding down big ass downhill tracks and gettin some sweet footage of some of the tricks etc. i am very tired today though
