Mr. TaranFX, first of all I would like to thank you. Had your attitude not been what it is, I would not have yet made my first post on Esato.
Greetings, all fellow Esatorians! With due regards to Mr. TaranFX, I hereby post how you can bypass the smartness displayed by the Hutch folks.
If you are using a T610 as I am, you may go to MENU >Connectivity >Data Comm.> Data Accounts> Your GPRS Account (Hutch_GPRS)> Edit> DNS Address. Put the address as 10.10.1.100 and off you go.
Note that this assumes you are using Opera Internet Browser, since only Opera is now able to access internet using the GPRS connection of Hutch. Also, proxies should be enabled and specified. Enable HTTP 1.1 for proxy, though I know not what it does. Also important is that the Browser Identification be set to Identify as Opera.
Your connection should now work as it did when the Hutch people got smarter.
Thank you.

cheers for Mr.jainshubhanyu. I didnt knew that DNS server=proxy server
I am a lamer. Even all networking guys are all junks coz they dont know that we have to enter DNS IP to connect to internet )
Proxy automatically assigns DNS address to client
Thanx for ur method sir, i salute u!
ppl were asking for GPRS on PC and u gave method (with DNS instead of proxy) for mobile instead for the PC.
regards....

hi, i am recently bought a GPRS mobile(nokia 6020) for availing AirTel's "mobile office"......i requested them to activate my "mobile office" . they told they have activated .... i can browse internet on my mobile but when i am trying to use it in PC i am getting a dial up error "Error 692....there might be modem or hardware failure......." something like this.
i also tried in Nokia's(Nokia PC suite 6.5) auto connect option ....but that too also says " ...network.....could not connect to device "....like this kind of error.
but i am browsing my phone in the PC and transfering data, ringtones, messages happily.
Plz tell me what is the problem ? why i am not able to access internet in the PC ?
i tried various way but failed...i see , you have accessed internet in the PC with mobile office .....plz if you know plz tell me.
thank you |

Now, Mr. FX, drag this into the battlefield if you may, moderators, ban me if you wish ( please don't), but I would request you to use your spectacles the next time you place yourself in front of the monitor. You would do well to re-read the post I made, and you will see that the method I told WAS meant for computer use.
That the method may, or rather does, not work for all is an altogether different issue. Could be some setting issue or what, I know not.
But the fact remains that this way I have been able to connect to the internet, using Opera browser.
Thank you once again to have forced me increase my post count by one, which would not have been possible without you..considering how lazy I am..and yes, I forgot, you have a very nice tongue ( )

Thank god there is at least one person besides me who will vouch for me! Good thing you got it. Sadly, there are a few applications who won't work.. Limewire, Yahoo messenger are just two on my computer that refuse to work.

oh yeah Mr lazy, u will get those stupid speeds for browsing that way but u wont be able to access any P2P networks, nor any messenger except for indiatimes. yup, indiatimes would work on it!
But this all doesnt matter to me, on my pc, everything is alive and all kicking. Everything works in 99.
My downloads run something around 8-11 k (64-88 Kbps)
Its all mine.
seems like u dont have a red letter day!
cheers...
