I have just purchased a Serial cable today will receive tomorrow, just to clarify the process is:
follow guide etc. do you need to upgrade the FW to the R2AA003 on TS server and then back to R2L?
or as i have downloaded the R2L FW here i can simply use that one to upgrade straight away? |

I can't be arsed with them anymore, I'm just going to remove all the customisation, sod the warranty. If it goes wrong I'm insured anyway, so I can just say I lost it.

I'd recommend R2L or R2A thru Davinci remote unlocker and not Totalserver.
You'l b paying money to totalserver to upgrade to R2A which still won't allow you to use the update service.
if you can upgrade to R2L via totalserver thats ok or R2L or R2AA via Davinci server which allow you to use the SE US service |

I am NOT going to stick with O2 again! Best bet is to get an unbranded phone from CPW I think...
If someone gets a more 'logical' responce, let us know.

I'm so fed up with O2 and their mistreatment of K700 owners that I've gone and brought an iMate SP3i unbranded "smartphone" to replace it... I'll stuff the O2 pay monthly SIM in it and flog the K700 on eBay.. |

If anyone in the US that has the K700i (or bought an O2 without knowing the market place in Europe) and is looking to upgrade firmware, this place rocks! And it is in Southern California.

There is no doubt that O2 customer services is very poor in this matter, and that O2 should not have banned the K700 from the Online Update Service in the first place. Having said that, if you compare a 'branded' K700 from O2 against a branded K700 from any other UK service provider you will see that O2 is undoubtedly the best of the bunch. There is virtually no customisations to the firmware and absolutely no hardware custumisation. Try to find that from another service provider! |
