One thing i have noticed about the Nokia 6600.. in the street when ive seen people talking on them, in the queue at the post office counter / bar / etc every one of them i see looks dirty..

Maybe its because of the black plastic on the edges of the phone, but it always looks really dirty, grubby and cheap. Also, the white on the front of the phone seems to fade to a sort of yellow hue..

Im not saying its a bad phone (in fact i almost bought one the other week) but the horrible plastic the case is made from looks so.. crap (IMO).. after some long term use.. any 6600 owners noticed this ?

The problem with Nokia is that they keep rolling out too many models at a time, then coming up with new ones in a short period of time, and with changeable covers, too! Quality gets sacrificed somewhere along the way, aside from all the garbage that results from this quick turnover.

And one thing, Nokia is creating a confused, schitzophrenic society, if you get what I mean.

At the most fundamental level no one can say that one phone is absolutely better than another for each individual person, it all comes down to personal choice. Some people don't need a phone that can play video clips or access the internet, whilst others do; the phone that meets your requirements is the best one for you.
Where I take issue with Nokia is that they churn out so many similar phones that there is no real choice between them, one Nokia is as good as another. If you ever look through a mobile phone brochure you will see a lot of Nokias, but upon closer inspection you will notice that many of them have almost the exact same features. Personally I don't think that this is a good strategy to follow for long term success, in the short term Nokia are able to flood the market and to be fair there are more Nokias sold than any other phone brand. SE on the other hand consistently produce phones which are of a high quality and specification, although some of their recent models have been taking the Nokia line and have been rather similar to previous models e.g. T630\T610. This is fine as long as it is an upgraded version of the T610, but it becomes worrying if SE goes further down Nokia's path and tries to put these phones over as brand new models that are completely independent of other models that are almost exactly the same.
I like SE, I like the fact that they are innovative and produce phones to a high specification, which also look good. As I have said before Nokias are mostly bought by people who are not all that interested in mobile phones and simply want a phone that will allow them to do the basics, which is perfectly fine. SE phones are for those customers who are a little more discerning and don't want another Nokia, they want to stand out a little. Ironically, in my opinion, changeable phone covers have become bland, it's such a common feature that people really are not all that bothered with it any more; people would rather have phones that have a decent set of features than one that you can match to your wallpaper.

I prefer to have a phone like the T610 with a fixed case, as it feels more solid, and classy than replacing the thin tacky plastic case you'd get on a Nokia to some other thin tacky plastic case, with a picture of Nutty Tart or Tiger on it !

I just think that removable covers are rather tacky, but for some reason, they only seem tacky on Nokia phones. My old Siemens phones had removable covers, but because they fit tightly to the phone so well they didnt feel tacky at all. They didnt creak or squeak when pressed hard, unlike all my old Nokia phones.
