SoCs made Mediateks are possibly the shittiest you can get.
Why did you say that? Any justifiable encounters or bad taste?

I'm wondering the same.
I see no issue with MediaTek chips you, i found anything they are ensuring Qualcomm stays on their toes, as they went unchallenged for a very long time in smartphones, going back to the days of Windows Mobile.
When Texa Instruments exited the industry, QC was pretty much without a major competitor.

Agree, Qualcomm needs competition especially after they released the flaming 810. MediaTek is the cheap option and while it may perform well I worry that it will never get the support for updates whether that is because of MediaTek, Goggle or Sony. |

These images were shown a few pages backand they're a fans concept not the real thing unfortunately, the actual one may look similar and I'd be pleased if they did to be honest.

Cheers mate . I also checked the last page before posting, but it was before that. I even saw it back then, when it was posted. Somehow I still thought these were new, probably as it was published today by GSMArena.

Sony have just confirmed their presence at MWC by sending out the press invites.

They also say that they didn't hear anything regarding a flagship at MWC and think IFA might be the place for it. I'm also jumping on this bandwagon. Sony moved to a one (true) flagship per year cycle since the Z3: Z3 (IFA) < 1 year > Z5 (IFA) < 1 year > XZ (IFA). Strange times .

I think it'll be the mid rangers and a flavour of what is to come at IFA. I think there will be a load of new smart watches and apparently Goggle are doing their own watch too so perhaps Sony will finally update the SW3. I also think there will be a number of Note 7 alternatives or 'ultra' devices so I'm really hoping that there is an XZ Ultra. as opposed to an XA Ultra update. My general observations from travelling on the London Underground is that you'll see a number of people with Z3/Z3+/Z5 as well as the Compact but no XA/X/X Performance and certainly no Ultra. People would definitely go for an XZ Ultra with pen. |

I personally think Sony has both patent right and know how to make good pen for smartphone
(Samsung exercise on the shortcut by brought the technique from Wacom)
Only few key elements that prevent Sony from make it reality are Pen API and economic of scale
They can't make it economic of scale efficiently, take 3GB RAM for example
it take full two years cycle from Z3+ Z5 XPerformance and XZ.
it won't be any good (especially in marketing term) to equipped same pen for two years.

It's great to see Sony finally getting positive news in the press rather than the doom and gloom of previous years. MWC can't come soon enough and really do think Sony will unveil something big purely down to the size of the floor space they have and with it looking like Samsung may skip MWC for the S8 launch Sony maybe be able to grab all the top headlines if they do launch a highend/premium device.

I've also read somewhere that they're including Sony now together with iphone and Samsung for the known High-end phone makers but let's see what will happen when Nokia finally comes back. |
