When I've spoken to Sony Alpha about AU W62S(MGS4 edition, a Global Passport device), his indication is that they are locked, yes...... 
Meanwhile...some of you might want to dribble over(as I have  )...SH-03A......
Gots to gets me one of those, oh yeah...903/904SH revisited??

SH-03A is really the true successor of the previous SH906i while SH-01A is the successor of the previous SH906iTV. Kinda got reversed =P
SH-03A and SH-01A have no difference other than the screen. SH-03A will be out next year in case you are still interested =) |

Guys,
Word over here says Sony supposedly have NOT stopped making Handsets for DoCoMo...
Although, their KDDI Line up is not great, after all - my SO906i still outperforms most other phones!

Hmmm - anyone remember the supposed SO-01A? Sony Ericsson's offering for the new DoCoMo lineup? Well, I've just spoken with a few guys down at Ishimaru and word is that it is going to launched with the summer LineUp from DoCoMo!
Something is happening at SEMCJ, because they have not launched a 'Hero handset' since the SO906i - we cant really include the C905 in their portfolio because it was more SEMC.

Alpha-san...can you shed ANY light on the supposed(but obviously held back with all else) FOMA STICK NEXT(SO907i*??), or has this been dropped??
EDIT: SH03-A keeps the form from 903/904SH(cycloid screen came from TV phones), only CCD from them inbetween was awful 910SH, hence my thoughts last post. Regardless, it's still more me than SH-01A...and out this month! Could be a merry christmas then(more likely a happy new year though, lol)......

Well, the SO907i (01A) was a handset rumoured to be in development for DoCoMo, but has since been dropped.
You may recall the announcement of no more Sony development for DoCoMo - this is what they meant.
The SO907i (or indeed, the whole '907i' range has become the '01A' range) so the Sony offering would have been SO-01A - which if you Yahoo! search will bring up some nice bits of information.
However, as mentioned before, there is something happening at SEMCJ, and only time (or the guys in Akihabara lol) will tell!

I read recently that although they won't be pulling out of the Japanese market, they will be moving more towards research.
Glad to hear the SO-01a is back on track.

Oo then, if they do launch that(a P990 fan's dream)... ...I was on about what was originally named as SO906/7i'mu', the candybar with supposed 2.7" WQVGA, 1-seg, etc...but I can't find a pic offhand, dammit...... 
OT: Liking the sound of T-Omnia(930SC), shame WLAN is removed(or just deactivated??), but not being WM, should be faster. Red looks awful though......
Hmm, wonder if anywhere has any SH-01/03A test photos yet?? Many are waiting for these......

A representative of the joint venture between Sony and L.M. Ericsson said there were no plans to shelve activities in Japan. But she admitted there would be a "shift" to a more research-focused business, creating a "center of excellence" for high-end handset development.
Hard to decipher exactly what this means but it sounds to me like they're working harder to conquer the market over there, I know they aren't overly happy with their market share there atm.
