it's range is roughly 10 metres.
There are two classes of bluetooth at version 2.0 - one has a range of 10 metres and the other 100 metres.

The only bluetooth device I have seen with a range more than 10 is a dongle. (that had 100m) |

Using a sony k810i is it possible to browse peoples files via BT like on samsungs? |

Isn't Bluetooth stuck slapbang in the middle of this range? If so suely there's a health risk.

A microwave oven is around 2000 watts while in BT it's in a fraction of a 1/10th of a watt. I wouldn't worry about it. |

bluetooth has 3 power classes.
class 1 is of 20dBm & has 100m range,
class 2 is of 4dBm & has 10m range,
class 3 is of 0dBm & has 10cm range.
for mobile class 2 is used... |

Yes, thats true. But I do not believe mobile phones, microwaves, TV transmissions etc. pose any health risk whatsoever!
