1. Lewis (McLaren)
2. Kimi (Ferrari)
3. Kovalainen (McLaren)
4. Alonso (Renault)
5. Massa (Ferrari)
Massa had a great Q1 and impressive Q2 ... and when it all mattered, the car did not respond ..
well he has plenty of work to do 2morrow .. not impossible i would say

Ferrari are awesome with starts.
Massa is on the cleaner side of the track , so he call get a clean shot off the line.
I guess he is heavier on fuel. Hamilton , I think is light on fuel.
Nice qualifying run by KIMI , seeing him beat Massa after a long time.
KIMI is going to attack Lewis right from the word go

Kimi Raikkonen - 2nd: "I'm pleased to be back on the front row, even if I'm not totally happy as I always want to be the fastest. On top of that, I'm not completely satisfied with the handling of my car: all weekend we have worked very hard to find the best set-up but we did not get it a hundred percent right. All the same, we have improved our performance, especially with a heavy fuel load. This result means I'm in good shape for the race. Tomorrow, I will try to make the best of the situation. My aim is to finish this season in the best way possible and help the team to win both championships."
Felipe Massa - 5th: "A shame. Today I was the quickest man on track but at the wrong moment. In Q3, I never had the right amount of grip from both sets of tyres that I used. On my first run I was a bit cautious on my "out" lap and so suffered in the first sector, making a mistake at Turn 3. On the second run, I did the opposite and found myself without grip at the end of the lap. So, I've ended up fifth on the grid, which is definitely not an easy place to be. I will try and work my way up in the race to score big points for the championship. All the same, the set-up on the car is good and we should be competitive. The first corner? It's similar to the one at the Hungaroring, so I hope I can manage to repeat the good start I got there."
Luca Baldisserri: "It was a somewhat contradictory session, both in terms of the final result and of the various performance levels through the field. In the first two sessions, Felipe had shown himself to be very quick and to have found the right balance on the car, while Kimi was struggling a bit. In Q3 the situation was pretty much reversed and specifically, Felipe found his sets of tyres producing inconsistent performance, offering less grip than previously. Hence his fifth place on a grid where the time differences are minimal. For his part, Kimi was more comfortable on the heavy fuel load and managed to do a great lap to get onto the front row. Tomorrow we will be up against very strong opposition and we will do our utmost to get both our cars ahead of them."

ofcourse it is ...
the title is still open for grabs .. if it was a one sided end then ok .. u can sleep and watch it at your own convenience
but one1 can win this one ..
despite massa being 5th on the grid, he posted the fastest time of all (Q2 - 1:17.287) in contrast to hamilton (Q2 - 1:17.462) .. so he does have a nice car , unfortunately, it did not responded when it mattered the most ... still i think it can swing in any direction ...

Massa moves to 7th place.
Bourdai has been handed a 25 second penalty for the incident with Massa.
Championship battle is on with Massa just 5 points behind Lewis.

Good going for Alonso! Well done also to Kubica, he certainly is low key yet effective. Not a bad drive from Raikkonen.
Once again, FIA is at it! Massa doesn't deserve the extra point, instead should've been penalised!
This has become really boring and infuriating from FIA! They are pushing for Ferrari to win the championship in a very despicable manner.

So do you say that what Hamilton did was right in the first corner?
He forced about 5-6 cars out.
Alonso,Kubica and Glock before the race said Hamilton being too optimistic and extra agressive , this is what they meant by that.

Well Massa's still behind Lewis, and he's got a stewards investigation over his head. Let's hope the FIA might actually do something this time around.

But he got penalised for that move so thats his penalty and fairs fair...
but the issue is was it right for Bourdais to be penalised for simply driving on the only line he had? He had his inside wheel on the curb so where else could he go? It was for position also... If anything, Massa should have been penalised. The ITV team didnt think Bourdais did anything wrong...
Fantastic drive by Alonso though, well done him... |

@totalgsm
Hamilton was penalised as was Massa for somewhat similar offences. I have no problem there. My problem is that Bourdais was given no room by Massa which was dangerous and as usual Ferrari gets away with it, not only that they gain an extra point. Shameful!

I too feel sad for Bourdai.
Massa was way to quicker and Bourdai had no chance.
he should have braked and taken a conservative approach.
