If the battery cover isn't enough of an argument, dust under the lens certainly is. Or if you don't think it's a "good enough" excuse, make something else up. Say it's crashing. At the end of the day, there are problems with your handset, so whatever you say is irrelevant.
I've sent my mail where I request a replacement... |

yep the lense cover is not opening on this one so i will be going for a replacement next saturday.....i woud just wait for a FW update as the build quality is brill but i cant stand the dust in the lense cover that i mentioned earlier and would prefer a 037 W44 build like my last one with a creaky battery cover Should of just kept it tbh

It hasn't taken long...
My "new" handset that I got yesterday already has a lose screen at the top. Great.

I'm really confused why should you accept a defective unit even if it's only slightly as over time it is never going to get better only worse. Just how many K850's is enough before you actually give up? Shame you sold your Sand N95 for all this trouble.

No, it's the actual screen.
I'm not changing this one as everything else is fine. In a month or so when I have time, I'll take it to my local service centre and have the screen sorted. The rest of the case is really solid, so I'm not going to risk getting a worse handset.
There's obviously an issue with the compound or method used to stick the screen to the housing, so repair is probably a better option anyway.

Urr my n95 had a very wobbly slide even after sourcing some new rails and such...so i did live with a 'defective unit' , I have no regrets selling it to get the k850i...what i do regret is exchanging my first as it was brilliant bar the raised earpiece cover....i doubt it would of got worse as it was hard to push down to level with the screen and didnt creak in any way....but thats life for you

It's difficult to say. What I've found is there's no consistency between CPW stores; some still have W41 stock. You could get him to get a replacement tomorrow and if it's still no good go on Saturday as well. CPW are good with returns in the 28 day period; I'm testimony to that.

i think(but not sure) im gonna tell him to go to a diff store(keighley rather than bradford) to get a replacement and if its still no good I guess i'll go on saturday....what i find strange is that the bradford store i went to to initially buy the phone had W44 stock but my replacement from the same store was an earlier build....ill check week later :S

It's either that they don't give out their stock on a FIFO basis like they should (although I doubt this because stores regularly seem to be out of stock) or perhaps stock comes from different warehouses.
I don't think you've got anything to lose by getting one tomorrow. Good luck.
