Unexpected indeed - not only for 'cell boffens' and fans but for share holders too. Do you 'think' it will have Wimax too?

@mario2004

I know you are a great fan of WiMax and it's potential but to be honest the development and roll out of WiMax has been too much talk and no where near enough action.

As next Year will see the the emergence of the OAMP series 3 chip with speeds between 600mhz to 1GB and HSDPA will already be offering speeds up to7.2mbps and continue to advance from there.

I really have very little faith in WiMax posing any real challenge, Samsung have already demonstrated 4G capabilities with up 1GB per second download speeds which means you could download a whole Film in under a second. I just don't see what advantage WiMax is going to be able offer over already well implemented Network structures that are already in place. Not forgetting it would also involve yet another chip set in our devices and just how much power consumption it would require is far as i know still unknown. Maybe WiMax is the future for UMPC's and Laptops but even many of these devices now come equipped with Sim card slots and the Networks already have really small USB modems for use with Laptops that offer broadband speeds at a reasonable cost.
