it's because the creation mode of the mms settings (you've downloaded during setup) is set to 'free' and is most probably greyed out so that you can't change it...
delete your mms account and request it from your operator or SE support page.
this should work..
Superb, thanks for that. The settings were automagically downloaded when I installed the latest FW, for others. I'm on Orange in the UK. |

same happened to me a few days ago with the previous fw.
got stuck at 92%.
yes, you can disconnect it..
afterwards close the update app (u may need to end it fm your task manager) and start over...

can anyone enumerate all the "new" features in this new software? is it really better than the previous firmware? should all p990i users go for this "upgrade"?

new bug i just found out while typing a long email...i just don't know how long but i got an application error/messaging error of something...i just can't remember the exact error message...i never experienced it on previous firmwares...so i did a format internal disk and start from scratch again, made another email & when i typed so long, i got the same error again...i hate it, since i was not able to save my email..so i made another email and tried saving it on drafts every paragraph i made...quite annoying...hope they'll fix it next time...
anyone experienced this? should i do another update? or it's a bug that must be fixed on the next firmware?

When you go to control panel and choose device then go to other, there is a sub menu called payment transactions. is this new?

what i like to know is if i use the SE Software to backup all my stuff.. (messages checked) will is retain all my txt messages or are they now gone if i formatted internal disk using service menu?=( |

If you've done your backup, your messages will be there when you restore regardless of what you've done to your phone. Make sure 'unified inbox' is checked when you make your backup.
On another note, I'm updating at an SE service centre tomorrow rather than using SEUS, mainly because I want my P990 serviced once in a while |

what you mean serviced? what do SE Center exactly perform other than the firmware update?
And thankyou, I did check the unified inbox and now all of my sms txt's are back.
seems great upgrade so far. for me i notice a little gain in menu/messages open speed and well i am resinstalling all programs/settings again so we'll see in a day or two |

Service centres would do standardized tests for every component in your device, currently I'm trying to optimize my 3G upload speed, doesn't seem to be streaming too well on the other end of my videocalls, might have something to do with the modem, so I was thinking of hitting two birds with one stone and get my phone updated as well. |
