Yeah, as Jah says the reflash on mine has definitely improved stability and speed in addition to seemingly fixing a couple of issues I was having previously (for example the task manager is no longer in bold text in flip open mode whereas it was before the reflash).

Either the first flash didn't go quite right, or SE have been doing some bug fixes on the sly and not incrementing the version number.

so why donīt you reflash???

Just like I warned they would be, and said again last week full of bugs!These phones will not be right for a while yet. I very much doubt if I will be taking up my option on one in September from Voda i want to see it a good deal more stable before I trust it for my business.How can anyone afford to spend so much time trying to get a phone right? they should be right from the factory, it merely indicates to me these early release phones cannot have been tested properly. SE need shooting you guys have all paid a lot of money to be beta testers not good enough.
I have owned the ... T68i T610, P800, P900, P910, P990, W950, P1, W960 But SE have now totally lost the plot.

Has enyone else this problem.

I have the latest updated FW:

With closed flip, select "Contacts", chose "More", then "New contact"
Then open the flip.

The screen then goes completely white and no text appears.
Some times it helps to close and open the flip, but sometimes you have to restart the phone??

The same thing also happens if you do the same in the calender:
With closed flip, select "Calender", chose "New", then "Meeting"
Then open the flip. The screen then goes completely white and no text appears. It helps to close and open the flip, then the text appears??

Even if you get a call during the time the screen is white nothing happens, it's still white!

I also have a issue with the Exchange active sync program, first time I install it and starts using it no attachments are visible, after 1 day of use all of a sudden the attachments are there? Have upgraded my phone and reinstalled the program 3 times and this happens everytime?

Hi all,
I know some of you may think i am this big anti SE knocking person but this really is not the case and as much as i wanted to believe that all these delays meant your nice new P990's would be relatively stable and usable. As Nitrogen says

"i want to see it a good deal more stable before I trust it for my business. I beg you all please take a stand not just for yourselves but for all of us and even for the future good of SE. Return every single unit as not fit for purpose and demand a refund. Even if SE refunded your money and allowed you to keep the units you would be unpaid Beta testers but that would just about be acceptable IMO.

This thread is 11 pages already after just 2 weeks and as soon as they fix one problem another appears this is just so wrong it defies belief IMO. Why SE feel they can treat you their loyal customers this way is beyond me but i do wonder just how many customers they are losing and likely to lose if things don't change soon.

@Dogman

er....some us enjoy being beta testers...its part of the fun of early adoption...its a hobby of sorts.

If we don't find the faults and alert potential consumers who will?

totally agree with you about testing - I've been involved in IT and military IT for many years so know the importance of this. But I find the kind of people technical/engineering companies employ are not good testers, real consumers do the strangest things Having owned and used the P900, P910, Nokia 9500 and 7710 I know SE and Nokia can make rock solid devices with very complex software. And I know SE will fix the P990 - but they will lose market share for sure and will have to work very hard to make sure the P1000 is more like the P910.

Im in the middle of re-flashing my p990i again as i seem to be having some problems mainly with the shortcut menu, they dont seem to be saving correctly especially in the flip closed mode. If i have the left joypad set to media player, it will go into contacts rather than the media player. When i go to check my shortcuts, i find they are all blank and set back to how they originally were when the phone was first received.

Weill report back to see if the re-flash solves this problem out. So far so good though, the p990i is definitely getting better and better slowly but surely.

@Osmano

let it charge as you need a full battery for the upgrade. Why don't you download the SE Update Service s/w while you wait?

Thanks Jah! I will do that. For how long should I charge the first time and where do I find the upgrade s/w? The shop said 12 hours.

Going to try again, just hope the phone isnt messed up.

@Osmano

I usually charge my new batteries for 6-8 hours (overnight) but for the K800 it says you only need a 2.5hr charge. I think as long as the charge reaches 100% it should be okay to use the battery.
