Its simply shocking...and also so unexpected...i dnt think anyone could have expected such a bad video cam...it just doesent tie in wiht the competition..hmmmm, v.strange se!

Why is it such a shock?
Isn't the W900 the only one to come out with a better video resolution recently?
This is just an upgraded K750 for the most, it's not like  announced this as "their premiere video phone" did they? I don't know why people seem so shocked with this, it follows the way upgrades.
T610 -> K700 -> K600/S700 -> K750 -> K790/800
So in the end we really shoulda all stuck with T610's

What's the video resolution/FPS for k800? Is it going to be even better than w900's 320x240? |

CIF = Common Intermediate Format = 352x288 pixels
QCIF = Quarter CIF = 176x144 pixels
K800/790 are supposed to support QCIF at 15fps video recording.

I hate the micro card. Saw it at a computer store, it is really small and does not store a lot. I believe there is only a 1 gb micro card out there. The phone is great, but geeez, the designed is just terrible. When my contract ends with my W800i I will probably end up with the either the W810i or possiblely this phone. I find it a dissapointment theres no Memory stick duo. I have no problems with the band. Is it just me though or the phone designs are getting uglier. I loved how W800i popped out of no where and made it look the perfect, unrelistic phone to me.
I don't get the k790 or the k800 at all. One can play mp3's other cant, the other one uses edge, other one doesn't. No clue what is going on.
I do like the W950 though just no fun camera. |

Kudos to u,  I love the K610 too. Just memory stick is back to haunt me. |

Well here's my sum up of the situation:
Design: Pretty ugle though a few people like.
Joystick. Need is say more
Memory card: Not good for those that had a k750i or w800i and spent money upgrading their cards.
Video: Not work talking about its that bad
Camera: Very good.
Music ability: Could be good but hindered by memory card point above.
I think they've made a big mistake this time. If the video issue was fixed before release it would be a step forward. Otherwise just scrap the whole thing. I might get myself a w810i, at least its joystick/dpad wont break all the time. |

Despite all the naysayers and the haters, I'll probably get this phone as a proper replacement for my K700i.
I'm not too fussed about the 15fps video, if I wanted to be Steven Spielberg I'd get myself a proper Sony HDV camera.
Check this thread for all the negativity days after the K750 was announced. With all that it was still one of SE's best-selling handset last year.
