According to the same site, official launch would be 1-3 december (2002? ) and the value of included Ericsson P800 prize "800+ $"
Just hope they won't add, as "added feature", television capability. So that the launch would be again delayed at Q1 / 2003.
But, guys, considering that the P800 will certainly be "overpriced" in some European countries, this is going to cost a lot of money.
It would have been better that others brands could launch others similary phones during this long wait. So that we can compare prices, features, and see... some competition!

If true, I find it strange that SE does not announce a delay in the official release date, currently being sometime during Q3. After all, we're half-way through it already!
Are there any planned mobile fares / exhibitions scheduled for later this year or have we seen them all for this year?
Another question, I query how the exciting 3D games on the P800 are going to work as you wouldn't have any "buttons" to press for directional steering, unless you'll use the pen input method??!!! |

If everyone here's so convinced we're not getting P800s until December, how come Expansys claim their Ericsson representative has quoted late August / early September deliveries?

Why would SE publish their White Pages dated April 2002 now, which is without the memory stick and MP3, and not a revised version given the short time frame till the offial release? |

The following was just posted on the German website www.telefon-treff.de with regards to launch of the P800 ; Apparently SE has sent out emails informing potential 3rd party developers of a competition with the selection of the winner being announced at the official launch of the P800 (Dec 2nd).
Zitat:

The Sony Ericsson P800 Application Proclamation - a rare opportunity for you to see how valuable your wireless apps can be. Wouldn't you like to create an application that will be featured during the launch of the P800 Smartphone? Nothing too big, or been-done, or an application that uses all the features of the phone. But, something that's small, highly original and enhances the everyday life of the P800 user. A world-clock, currency converter, golf score-card or something that no one has even thought of. It's all about creativity and realizing the value of getting your code into the consumer's hands.
Be rewarded for your innovative thinking.

I work for CPW...Our SE account manager has told up this...£500 sim free...£330 online...release mid to late september...I wouldnt be suprised he it was slightly later, but they had prototypes about 3 weeks ago and said they would have the finished boxed artical to show 4 weeks from then...the games use the touch screen, MIB2 uses the stylus to shoot and the racing game has buttons on the touchscreen...
