Its a photo which has been touched up/modified using photoshop for example.
Its not a completely computer generated image (rendering)

Its not a photo.
Firstly in the reflections you could see some evidence of a surrounding, or at least a camera to take the picture. The reflections are too perfect. The reflection on the table is pratically perfect, why isnt the light source to the top right also a perfect reflection, its too diffuse on the surface compared to the reflections. Also this light should be casting at least some shadow in the bottom left of the phone.
Getting these sorts of renders from today's 3D software isn't too difficult and i expect would be far easier to render a beauty shot than it would be to photo one.
Havin said all that the displayed picture does look photoshoped that doesnt make much sense if its been rendered (unless its someone else working on it at a later date). So i could look like a right prat when someone prooves its a photo hehe |

The surface & reflection etc can be added/altered later but the phone may still be a photo, which I believe it is.
Such reflections on a perfect surface can be seen on release photos of all SEs
The surfaces of the phone itself look too good for a rendering. For example look at the first link posted earlier of a camera, it just doesn't look real.
As for the screen, we often see photos with false screenshots. |

i'll tell how it works .... there is a special mode for shooting this ...
once you took the picture of the product.... it is transferd to a computer........ on the computer .... you are using 3D software which make it look so real ... & then it's going to the picture repairingsoftware, which is the photoshop ....

get a second hand photoshop 7 much cheaper and you dont miss out on too much.
I still think its rendered, toutch up is a fair ammount of work in comparison imo. |

There are free 'sources'!
To me it involves more work to accurately render a whole picture than it does to touch up a photo.
The photo does the big job & u need only make it perfect, for rendering you must make the picture/object AND make it look perfect.
