I do a lot of driving up and down the country and I've found that in my experience o2 has had the better coverage.
I had to cancel my orange contract because they seemed to have fogotten about coverage in my home village! I rang up to cancel the contract and the cheeky cow said why don't you just use the phone outside you area and get another network for at home! Was rather shocked by that

Ive been with Orange for a while, and havent moved off them, been with O2 during the time and had some issues with them. reception has never been brill in my experience with O2, and for a while messages would take ages to deliever.
No, go with Orange mate, and there customer service I find is pretty good! |

I prefer 02 as I have had no problems with them so far. I've been with 02 now for just over a year from Vodafone and I only had to phone cust service once for a silly query, which was answered fairly promptly.
If you're a real cheapskate (like me) and you dont want to call CS due to the call cost, go to the local 02 shop with your query. if they cannot answer/resolve, they get on the blower for you and they use their "internal" number as it gets answered straight away...
Regarding coverage, I usually very seldom loose reception, although there are some spots that there is low or no reception, but that you get with any other provider.
I also travel a lot - part of my job and doing 1500 - 2000 miles a month and another function that I like is the 1200 number. You get traffic updates and if you dont specify where you are, it gives you the traffic details of the area from which your signal originates. It costs roughly about the same as a text message or so.

We'll I was on BT Cellnet/O2 for a while, but having started a new job and dealing with Orange on a daily basis as I was in charge of all things technical I decided to move to Orange myself. Pretty much purely because of the customer service.
I'll admit that O2 coverage was perhaps marginally better but it depends where you go and I've had friends O2 coverge vanish when mine is full so it is a minor thing (Unless you have no coverage at home ofcourse).
And to be fair any network that plays Five and Christina as their hold music deserves a medal  ?!!

Hadn't notcied that. Yes, O2 include 1mb per month for free. Which is about 100 pages. That would cost £3 on Orange.
That's just made things harder - as i was swaying towards Orange!

sorry but i actually meant the loophole that allows free gprs 24/7 that we take advantage of which is available on any fone with wap 2.0 browser k700/k750 nokia 6230 etc.etc.....with o2 that is

What they guy means is that until now, 02 did not charge a penny for gprs access. To put it another way; it was free!!! Does not matter how you access it, via bobile phone laptop etc.
For instance, I used to access the internet with my laptop via my mobile phone using "02 Mobile Web" (which is a dialer application) when I was in places that I could not access the internet in any other way. According to the data counters on my previous mobile (Nokia6230) it is as follows: All sent data - 207 103 982B and All received data - 176 088 401B
O2 did not charge for this, however I have heard rumours that they are now closing that loophole and notifying people of such, but at least they say that they will not charge people for it., but from now on they will be charging.
Hope you understand this time. Search the forums, as there's some other posts regarding this soon-to-be-no-more free-gprs-access from 02

I suspect that loophole is now closed. I Wap 2.0 and O2 are charging £8 for 5mb which isn't good.

I also can't understand this issue about delivery reports on O2. Mine work perfectly!
