My K750i only tends to freeze up if i try to zoom in on pictures (horizontal view, and press +) ive already taken in 2mp resolution too quickly. If i press + then wait 2-3 seconds until the phone zooms in before pressing it again it does not freeze up.
It doesnt bother me, because i know its firmware related and will be fixed soon.

yeah exact same thing here, if i go to my pictures, then open it, then press horizontal, then press zoom, all really quickly, my phone will freeze... but if i do that all and let it "process" or whatever, and take my time, then it's perfect! |

Rather than start yet another thread about the problems with this phone, there are many (threads and problems), wouldn't it be much easier to do a SEARCH, and read about them?

I agree with sapporobaby, especially as the title of this topic is "Buying a K750i tomorrow, quick testing tips needed.".
Let's keep this thread for "quick testing tips".

Try turning it on. If it lights up. Chances are that it works. For additional tips, and hints, why not do a search of the forum and find them.

But thats exactly what we are doing. Who made you moderators ?
Why is it every post i read of sapporobaby's, he/she is having a moan about something ? we know you're bored of Esato.
We're simply pointing out potential bugs he can try when hes got the phone in his hand for a test. Unlike the bug which freezes the phone up when left on standby for a few hours, he can test the one i pointed out whilst hes got the phone very quickly.
He can also try assigning joystick shortcuts, turning the phone off and back on again to see if they reset.

Not only me. Many more. I just say something about it. Have you noticed that not many of the "oldtimers" post here anymore? Second, I do try to give out info, advice, tips, etc.... if they are on subjects that have not been posted to death. Go have a peek at the Mac or Apple threads.
Second, I in no way want to be a moderator here. Hmmmm. If I remember, wasn't there a thread titled "What's wrong with Esato"?
Third. It is globally known that the k750i has problems. How much longer are we going to go on an on about it. My friend at SE says help is on the way, so the options are quite simple. Live with them until the fix comes, take the phone back if you can, live with it an moan about it. I would prefer the first two options.

Paragraphs 1 & 2, i really do not care, and cannot even be bothered to comment on them because its just boring.
Paragraph 3 - we know everyone knows, but until SE fix the problems theres nothing wrong in helping people make sure that when they get their K750i it'll hopefully be as reliable as many other peoples.
I think this particular thread is more relevant to people buying the phone, than the one that simply states K750i bugs and problems.

Well, paragraphs 1 & 2 are relevant because a good deal of knowledge no longer show up here. So maybe you ought to rethink that again.
As for advice on the phone, this too is very simple. I would recommend not getting it until the bugs are fixed or until at least the first firmware release.
On a personal note, I can get a k750i for 220 Euro's brand new, unbranded, but I won't because something is not right with the phone, so rather than complain, complain, complain and start the same thread a bazillion times, I will simply use my z800 and get a k750i in a month or two. Problem solved.

Agreed.
I would advise him to wait a few weeks, maybe even a few days until they release and upgrade. No since in him getting it now and then being disappointed and always looking for the ever elusive software update.

I got mine today, 05W18 Europe 3 from MWP. The MWP people were a bit weird at first, but after chatting with them a bit, I found them to be nice people. |

What tests did you perform before you bought your phone?
Cheers!

I checked for creaking, I looked at the entire body, and made sure it was clean, undamaged, I check the date of manufacture, sadly there was no choice here, they only had 05W18 from NL available.
I then popped the SIM in, looked at the call timer in the service menu to see if it was used or not, it wasn't. I know the Zooming in after taking a pic "bug" is just RAM related, so it's no biggie. I lastly fiddled with all keys while in the service menu to make sure that they worked.
Those were the only tests I could think of performing in store. |
