How does Emergency Calls work? |

still makes no sense to me!
ive got here in front of me a NK 7600 no sim and it would appear i am wrong
if i try and phnoe 999 with no sim in, it says its attemting the call then says theres no network coverage!
which i can understand. but im sure ive seen it working before.
ahh might try me a bit of moto hex editing and get the emergetny numbers changed!

Wont you also need to hack the carrier's systems instead ? Coz the damn servers should treat the number you want to dial as an Emergency num. As such, there has to be someone hand in glove let the sys fool to treat other nums as emergency & let you connect to them !!

i dont know too much about it, but ive heard of ways to charge calls to another phone using the same reception tower...or something like that...search for cellphonehacks in google.. |

As far as i know:
when you wana make a emergency call any operator in range will/should allow you to make that emergency call.
It goes to your nearest emergency centre no. like the police station.
And yes the call is free.
But the thing is that not all operators support this service, in order to prevent their network usage for free.
Like in delhi(INDIA), i think only the HUTCH network allows to you make the emergency calls.
It can be taken something as a free public-service the network operator provides.
