It does to SE. Camera quality is their battleground now, they dont intend to make their phones the best using connectivity or ease of use their selling point.
Besides, SE have always been pretty good where the factors you mentioned are concerned, those issues come as second nature to .

a cam isn't everything. there are other things that are much more inportant to companies, service providers and custumors

So tell me, what is the major improvement of the K700i to the K750i ?
Answer: the 2mp camera and the memory needed to support it.
Everything else has pretty much remained the same, other than slightly being updated.

You've got it in 1.
S/E make great phones period. In NZ the majority of mid to high priced phones go to business users whose priority is easy to use menu's, carkit availability and connectivity. S/E has excellent carkits, multimedia viewer options, a multitude of headset options, etc, etc.
Samsung carkits are a pain in the butt for installers and in NZ at least, not as well supported for after sales service as Nokia and S/E.
Sony Ericsson's main competition will, in my view, always be Nokia because thier phones are idiot proof and practical and thier accessories are well designed.
A 7 Mp camera will simply spur S/E on to greater things. |

@ etaab: what about new design? good battery? better screen? better ergonomics? new platform?
the K700 is a normal phone in my eyes. T68/T610/(even)T630 made a better impact.

Yeah. The k700 does not have a really good design in the front. I feel it was used as a test dummy to improve upon and the result was the k750, which has minor but highly desirable improvements like ability to zoom in on stored images, ability to view videos in full screen etc. The only major changes are cam and memory stick duo.

For the pro-market: het likes of HP that make PDA's with gsm added in. Those executives really like the Windows look and feel and the IT-ers too. They buy one offered by the company that delivers IT.
For the consumers: Siemens (benq!), Samsung, Motorola. |

I would say Nokia, not because they make better phones, because they make more money LOL

But would you call those improvements SE could use to sell the phone ? not a chance.
The K700i had a good design, battery, screen, ergonomics etc. The K750i only slightly improves on them. For example, i wouldnt say the 262k screen the K750i uses is such a vast improvement over the K700i's 65k screen.
SE however use the massive improvement of the K750i's camera as their selling point and where / who to rival.

I would say HP, because they are making computers, handhelds and other devices that compete with Sony's. They are quite getting good at it.

Word on the grapevine is that Nokia is bringing wrath upon themselves from their own followers due to their ridiculously short lifespan of their models, well not lifespan as such, but time in the limelight is like 3 months tops for a Nokia before itīs exit stage left for a new model.
That, IMO has to backfire on them at some stage for the benefit of Moto, Samsung *unfortunately* . and SE
