I would add that I quite often take photo's of for-sale notices in the local library. The god awful noise my k700 made, which I couldnt disable (vodafone), didnt please the library staff very much. Lots of other situations such as taking a photo of notes in a lecture theatre during a lecture etc.

Seriously though, the branding on the O2 K750i is so minimal it may as well be a sim free model anyway.

Mine will be too - in 2 weeks... when my contract runs out... so it's free... even on an upgrade...

As for "it may as well be sim free", it really may as well be, especially as it comes unlocked

It's luck. And I don't know why people are so bothered, lets face it, if it demotes perverts then that's good isn't it?

no, it isn't at all! I don't want a phone, that makes sounds!! Some weeks ago i was on a marriage (as a guest) and some people made photos with handycams and when the prayer talked you alwayws heard the sound of the camera!! Very annoying!!

Life is SO unfair

Soon flashing software will be available, so don't worry! [addsig]

Well for those annoyed by the camera sound, just call a free number while using the camera, you won't have the sound anymore

I got mine from the CarPhoneWarehouse in the UK.

When I switch mine to silent, the camera noise is also silent.

Well, strictly speaking there is a difference between unlocked and sim-free but I see your point. Other than the top of the range smart phones, O2 mobiles have been coming unlocked for years. Which is nice

Norway (http://www.netshop.no/), and yes, I am able to shut off the camera sound by holding the # button down (turning phone sounds off). [addsig]

One totally unbranded from Hong Kong, the other as a free O2 upgrade. (yes, I've got two)

Sorry to go off topic, but could someone who bought their K750i SIM-free in the UK tell me their CDA number? I'm interested to know for when an unbranding solution is available. [addsig]

a quick note on unbranding of the K750i....

1. It aint gonna happen for a few months as the cables havent been produced that allow us non SE service centers to unlock and debrand the new K750i, W800i and others coming soon with the new adapter... Plus TMS have got to make their program support the new cable when/if they are released. At the moment its only able to be done via Test point method which is risky to say the least (from what i know of it)
2. My camera goes silent when the phone is on silent... I've got a voda branded one.... (branding doesnt bother me especially when the two K750i's i have were won in competitions and not on contract anyway!)

Hope this helps...

Oh and the CID number is RED 36 i think if i am wrong sorry. EMMA III has been released and notes FW updates and unlocks for them which includes the K750i an W800i.... but still this issue of waiting for a cable and TMS support.
