You will not lose your credits as it has not flashed your phone. It may, but I doubt it, kill your phone. It will simply not flash the phone and you will be stuck with the Vodafone crap. The only thing that bothers me is not being able to use .mp3's as ringing tones, but I have a program from SE that will allow this, so in effect I am missing nothing. I will eventually buy a z800 and that will be that, but other than the Vodafone Key on the desktop, and the few Vodafone files, I am not bothered at all.

Setool's now only available as standalone so its not an option for me to pay £££ to flash one phone. I hope and pray that davinci's works.

Like the campagne covers though got some on order myself.

I would use TMS as opposed to Da Vinci. I have heard that TMS is a bit better and more stable.

Just to make things clear. If the others offering advice have flashed their phones, they need to give you the entire story. I am speaking from experience. I was told by the same people(some of them) to just go ahead and flash it, but they did not give the rest of the story. If you want that copy of the software to create DRM files for .mp3 ringing tones, send me a PM and I will send you the software. Need to run to a meeting, so I will not be back for a few hours.

Also got the MP3 thing a while ago, don't think its available anymore. It doesn't work for K700i though!

Oh well just found out that my new cable has been delivered, so by the end of the day I'll either have a flashed V800 with Z800 firmware or the kids have got a new toy.

Thanks for all the help guys I let know how I get on.

Ok guys

Just to keep you posted, done a sucessfull unlock, next is the flashing.

Tried to download firmware but keep getting "error connecting to FTP" tried it with firewall switched off but it makes no difference. I can only guess the server is down. I'll keep trying.

Hey Johnny,

What are you using? TMS, or Da Vinci and which version of each?

HI

I'm using DaVinci's SE remote unlocker 13.2[v2], phone turns out to be CID29 so soon as I get on to server all should be well.

CID29. Lucky you.

I will sell my Vodfone branded v800 maybe. As I said, it works great and we can use the 3G here in Finland. The Vodafone branding is really not a major issue but I would like my button back.

Hey Sap, do you know if I need to set the CDA stuff when I flash the phone or just leave it alone?

I'm wondering if I should do the following when flashing:

CDA No' = CDA102295/7 (this is same as b4 flash, relates to phone region)

CDA Revision = R20A (same as b4)

Model = V800 (same as b4, obviously!)

Language Varient Name = "set to same as firmware version" (currently EU6_VA)

Does this sound right or am I talking rubbish????????

I'm about to flash my v800 with z800 firmware, can anybody advise me on what CDA settings I should use.

I'm wondering if I should do the following when flashing:

CDA No' = CDA102295/7 (this is same as b4 flash, relates to phone region)

CDA Revision = R20A (same as b4)

Model = V800 (same as b4, obviously!)

Language Varient Name = "set to same as new firmware version" (currently EU6_VA)

Does this sound right or am I talking rubbish????????

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
