Hi all,

I finally got my K750 today. I bought it in Odense in Denmark.
I can already say that I really really love it.

Finally Sony Ericsson released a phone where you can set MP3 file as SMS/MMS ringtone. And you can even set a different MP3 file as a email ringtone!! I love it!

The video and MP3 playback is alot better than K700 (read faster and smoother).

Thank you SE

Point of correction though - K750i is NOT the first SE phone one can set MP3 file as SMS/MMS ringtone. The P910i can do that, and I suspect the other P-series phones too...
If it is to be it is up to me!

Just says Insert SIM card! It just doesn't wanna work!
Oh well... Guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow to get a replacement one then!

How old is your SIM ?

I had a similar problem with my Black Moto Razor V3 (I got it as a gift) and it showed that my 11 year old SIM card was the problem rather than the phone. Think older SIM cards require 5V while newer one require 3V and most new handsets nowdays seem to support only 3V SIM cards.

Thank you Arne Anka!
I think that could very well be it!
My SIM card is really old... My original provider doesn't even exist with the name on the card anymore (Europolitan which was acquired by Vodafone). I think it's 8 years old... It's worked great on my T610.
I'll try to get a new one tomorrow then! Hopefully shouldn't be a problem!

K700 may be one of those last devices supporting both 5 and 3 V SIM cards or perhaps your SIM is a 3V one (don't know when they changed the voltage). You have to try and see. For some reason, manufacturers do not give any particular info concerning SIM cards, which I think can make a difference between a "buggy" and a "bug free" phone.

Wow just red all posts here. Congrats mate!

MP3 as an SMS/MMS ringtones is a huge advantages! Finally SE had listen to us. Too bad they implement it only to newer model.

I was wondering how abut SMS storage? Still limiting to 100 messages? I Heard enough crap that said : you dont need much sms, 100 is enough for me, go to P Series, etc that is a b*** shit, especially in my country.

As one of the largest GSM mobile market, most operator still rely on SMS revenue in my country. Heck, even one of it offers flat rate for SMS.

SMS still important and still an killer app in some countries. Neglecting the SMS storage is a stupid decision for SE, IMO.

I am not a tipical guy who like to store messages forever, but 100 messages shared with sent, draft, etc is not enough. I found had to delete every two days. In busy day i even had to clean up my messages twice a day.

And through out these years, SE is acting deaf or pretend not to hear customer complain, while most of it migrating to S60.

It even takes 4 years to implement customisable sms tones!

I understand that you can assign mp3's to sms's. But my girlfriends phone can assign mp3's to sms's for different contacts. So she knows who she is getting an sms from when it rings. Is this possible with the k750?

I think it's only Motorola phones who can assign different SMS ringtones to contacts.

But it has disadvantage anyway. The SMS ringtone will function as call ringtone as well. You can't separate SMS ringtone and call ringtone of a contact. [addsig]

I do not know about the max number of SMS's yet. But I can see that the maximum number of Notes is now 25. It was max 10 on the K700. Nice!

Also SE finally added Birthday to the Address Book! And it automatically can add a reminder to the calendar!! Thanks SE!!

Also the signal reception quality (internal antenna) is superb! Better than on K700 and alot better than T610 and T68i. Now I get full signal in the basement at work!! Great!!

To me the K750 is simply perfect.

No wait.. one small thing.. I would like to disable the fancy menu animations... I dont need them.. I want the menues to appear instantly!

Have you tried to change theme (think animation is part of theam configuration/creation) ?
