I have just mailed them and I urge you all to do the same.

Everyone assumes somone else has told them, but the power of the people is a much more powerful tool.

Everyone mail them. There is a contact option on the SE web site. Tell them that you have tried it, how far you got and then what errors you are presented with. [addsig]

Been there, done that. The damn bastards don't even acknowledge receiving your complaint. I also told them that an apology instead of a funny 404 error message would have been more appropriate.

@gardar: guess dannyoneill got lucky - i didn't receive s**t.

P.S. Sorry for the intensive swearing that I've been using lately, but I'm seriously pissed off by those SE incompetents. And by the fact that they do not assume responsiblity by putting a formal apology on the website - especially to the people whose phones they screwed up...

I assume your phone can not connect but otherwise is still working.
I suggest you keep trying once a day or so to update your phone using the site, just in case they put a new firware update online.

There are at least 2 links for downloading the update.
Maybe one of them is OK and the other is not ??

Global site:
http://www.sonyericsson.com/s[....]5_7&zone=ps&lm=ps1_1&pid=10183

UK site:
http://www.sonyericsson.com/s[....]5_7&zone=ps&lm=ps1_1&pid=10183

Edit: The link in the Global site says ver=4001 and UK ver=4000. Is this of any relevance? (ver = version)

CDA162005/4 is not supported or you have entered an incorrect number.

If the number is correct it means that your operator does not approve usage of the service for this device. If the number is incorrect, click Previous and enter the right number.
