K750 / W800 Firmware Overview |

My vodafone K750i is version r1c004... is that newer?
Am I going to be able to upgrade it myself or must it go to a service centre? If so are they able / willing to give a non-vodafone version of the firmware (I was able to do this with my Nokia)
I'm brand new to both SE and this phone and am trying to familiarise myself with how it is organised after years of Nokia. Are there any good sites, pages , resources out there that would help?
Many thanks |

I suspect R1C is a Vodafone-specific version of R1A.

I personally have not experienced this problem once. In fact, my only crash was when trying to send a file to my PC via Bluetooth. But, many have reported this problem. Hopefully, the SEUS will be available soon along with a new firmware.

Ho hum... From page 67 of the K750i Use Manual:
Update Service
With the Sony Ericsson Update Service you can keep
your phone updated with the latest software. When
a new software version is available, you can
download and install it using the provided USB
cable and an Internet-connected computer.

Think current frimware badly needs a new update....
Bugs are very very common n often.
EG: new events - double events for single msg. cant be deleted.
sms Inbox - arrangement screws up sometimes.
phonebook ask to copy contacts from sim when its all there already.....
the massive lag switching from cam to view pics.. |

Noted that Vodaphone's R1C004 supports DRMed MP3s only. |

A contributor on another forum claims that he spoke to a Sony Ericsson representative today and was told that a firmware revision is on the way "within two weeks or so."
I really hope that's true and that it addresses the standby freeze (thankfully I haven't had that problem, but it is totally unacceptable) and all the Bluetooth issues. |

I contacted O2 today regarding an upgrade to the K750i and I was told they will not currently supply anymore K750i's until the new firmware is out. I was quoted the 20th of June with a probable lag time of 3 to 4 weeks after that due to such high demand.
Looks like im just going to have to buy it instead! |

I mailed SE support yesterday to ask some questions about bugs I have been having and they replied that the new firmware will be available in week 24. |

Week 24, for those who can't be bothered to work it out, is next week (12th - 18th June). The comment by O2 is interesting. I hope there won't be the same SEUS firmware update problems with the K750 as there was with the K700! |
