Wouldnt it be far more simple to just order a different colour keypad ?

Where i live, there is a shop that sells K700i keypads in all sorts of colours. They arent official keypads, but worth buying if you want a change. Cheap too.

Im sure other shops and internet sites sell them too.

Ebay.co.uk

No, i would use a thin plastic lighting film, the stuff used to colour lights in theatre. You can get them very thin and just cut them out and put them in, make sure they arent too hard as well.

EDIT: you could possibly paint the underside of the keypad with some translucent paint, blue, which is durable? Like the stuff used to paint phone casings?

well why not just change the LED on the Key Pad..!
It costs just 250 rupees here in delhi, I remember getting my Nokia 3210 converted from Green LED's to Blue both on the LCD and the Keys..!

Changing the LED's or painting the keypad would make the color change permanent. You cannot change back easily if you paint it and changing the LED's costs money

By using a thin piece of transparent colored plastic, you can change the color as you wish without much effort. If you get bored with one color, you can easily change to another one...

The wrappers on Quality street chocolates are suitable, and there's lots of different colours. Best bit is eating the chocs while you choose!

This topic is vry intersting...

Tho it's impossible to change the LED colour on the K500i cuz the LED's are orange (can't make orange turn to blue by putting a blue film over the LEDS).

But if you get the chance to go to Hong Kong, there's plenty of mobile shops to permanately change the LED's colour or even change the whole housing.

About £3.99 per keypad. Lots of the small chain phone shops sell them.

the pics i saw here of blue keypads made with colored bag for grocery are pretty good...but i think it makes the light go darker(opaque)...if you look at the original pic i was inspired to make this topic you can see it still lights a lot so ill keep trying and searching for those colored keypads etaab mentioned

thanks for being interested on the topic...lets continue trying and posting our tryouts here..
