Agree. Banglore too has the same story. Sad but i'm not saying 600 for html wap. I'm thinking of getting just wap at 99per month.

The story is same with mtnl in bombay. Those guys just ask up to contact their divisional engineers. They also have problems with their infrastructure. It's all due to government company, with lots of corruption at senior level.

I would advice u to go for land connections there are so many ISP's to choose from.Airtel GPRS is sometimes like a pain , doesnt work or works at 1KB/S ,sometimes at 4KB/s.If u spend less time and want speed and need wireless connection go for Reliance they offer Decent speed at low rates but i guess thats on timebasis(the connection) and its CDMA . i use to download around 3GB/month for Rs.600 (Airtel GPRS) but sometimes it really crappy when it works at 1KB/s .Now taking up Airtel GPRS would be my last option.
As far as EDGE is concerned its supposed to be fast but Airtel is not using it for http access (its only being used for WAP ,correct me if i am wrong), and a speed of 8KB/s is impossible on GPRS practicaly .DOwnload accelator sometimes shows speeds much higher when data gets accumulated and suddenly its downloaded the download rate goes too up and comes back to actual after a some time.
