WAV file are massive. They will eat all your memory up for one song.

you cannot reduce the size of an allready compressed mp3 file without loosing quality, no matter what bitrate you use in the new file.

But instead of encoding songs into for instance 128kbs mp3 you can get the same quality at lower filesize by encoding it directly to AAC 96kbs

But turning a 128kbs song into a 96 one will make an audible difference? i mean, if the dfference is too big is not worth it, is it?

The difference wont be to big, if you convert a 128kbs mp3 into a 96kbs AAC, but it wont be as good as if you converted directly from the cd into 96kbs AAC to start with.

Convert mp3 to aac ?

DBpoweramp

http://www.dbpoweramp.com/bin/dMC-r10.exe

with either the nero codec

http://www.dbpoweramp.net/codecs/dBpowerAMP-codec-Nero-mp4.exe

or the pystel codec

http://www.dbpoweramp.net/codecs/dBpowerAMP-codec-mp4.exe
http://www.dbpoweramp.net/cod[....]AMP-codec-mp4-aacenc-alter.exe

It also rips CD to aac.

Else, you can use Itunes also to do the same.

I've read that R2AL fw (still not officially put on SEUS) can use aac (m4a,mp4) songs as ringtones.

Any confirmation from whom has such a fw?
