If the COM cable is a T28 then you can use Total Multi Server: http://www.totalserver.net/index.htm to upgrade firmware, remove branding, unlock and remove camera shutter sound. Each action costs £8 though.

Why confuse him with buying credits, T28 cables, etc... He was asking about the DSS-25.

BigAdam -get a Sync Station, turn off the anti-virus stuff, firewalls, use Netscape or Opera and it should work. (Fingers crossed)

'noob' is a term used a lot in online gaming to mean someone who is new (hence 'noo') and not very good, or who arent playing to the established rules used by more experienced players.

It is a derogitary term used as an insult when someone is doing something stupid or annoying.

He wasn't asking about the DSS-25 he said he had a COM cable and if he could use that.
Why are YOU confusing him telling him to buy a DSS-25 if he already has a cable which will do the job? Have u got shares in SE?

I was only trying to help

The simplest way to go about this is to purchase a DSS-25 from Ebay for about £12. Otherwise you need credits for multiserver etc. The DSS-25 is useful to have anyway.

I also have the problem with the message Synchstation Not Found !
SE told me to set parameters for dss-20 in hardware profiles as follows...
transfer rate 115200
data flaw hardware
I did all that, even downloaded the latest file manager and synchstation, turned off the firewall, antivirus (nod32), yet the problem still remains. The only thing I havent tried yat is to use something else than IE. Can Mozilla do the job for me ?????

@BigAdam--you can (maybe) update your firmware, but you will _not_ debrand your phone using the service. For that you need setool or davinci or one of those, and a t-28 service cable.

The word 'Noob' origonated in South Africa, from the word 'newbie'. It could either mean 'new at something' or 'ediot'.
