Gentlemen...

This is getting a little childish and a lot silly. There are obvious arguments for and against laffen's decision, but it's quite clear that the intention is not for people to get around this by posting ads elsewhere on Esato. Does it really require another confirmation from the man himself to spell this out?

The decision has been made. The options available, as I see it, are not to post non-mobile related FS threads at all, or to post them outside Esato.

I'm not saying it's right - in fact I agree with the vast majority of what Mik has said on the matter, but I can also see an increased number of poeple joining Esato purely to take advantage of the Market that has been created, which you have to admit, does somewhat detract from the essence of Esato as a Discussion Forum.

At the end of the day, though, it's laffen's decision and it's been made. It doesn't look likely to change, so let's not start bickering about what the MPFZ is actually for - Krubach is right, it's for discussions and to suggest otherwise is just temporarily circumventing the rules.

ohhh okay okay... my mistake, sorry all!

IMO... we need a non mobile related FS section... i wishh
that would solve alot of problems i thinkkk

but then again... if people came here just for that... and got ripped off.... maybe they might try to sue esato... ya know? or we will get un-trustable people coming here... maybe thats why they havent done it yet?? im not sure...

i wish they would make that section though
Its good to be back!

I also think it's ok to sell non mobile stuff, as i said, i don't give a damn.
I think it's not ok to put the FS threads in the MPFZ.
A section should be created in the "Market" area. [addsig]

People who join Esato purely to try a Market scam will do it with the latest phones due to the 'essence of Esato' being phones & this will happen regardless of whether there are non-mcb items FS or not.
Non-mob sales are not going to increase that problem. Maybe if they were making up the majority of sales here but they're not! Non-mob sales are easily the minority

Yup - fair point. So is there anything else to say? Pretty much without exception, we're all in favour of a dedicated forum for non-mobile related sales but laffen, unfortunately, is not and it's his decision, which I think we should respect and peddle our wares elsewhere, that being the case.

Apart from anything else, I would say that laffen has access to the actual stats as to how many people just post in the market threads/how many non-mobile sales there are by comparison etc, and has made this decision for a reason.

Since it's the subject of the actual thread, my opinion is that the situation was (considerably) better before the ruling. But I do think a thread stirring up opinion against the guy who's site this is, is not going to do anyone much good though and has zero chance of leading to a change in policy.

@kruby, as long as an item is non mobile related, it can qualify for the mobile free zone.

I also could say "as long as an item is being sold or requested, it can qualify for a Market zone." [addsig]

As you can see in the menu on your left side.
It says: "DISCUSSION Forum". I can't find any "FS Forum" in there...

You can discuss things to sell? Don't roll your eyes, you big head! You think you know everything do you? Well, i just clamped you... [addsig]

There are places like ebay, amazon and blueyonder that people can sell their items on. Esato is a forum for mobile phones. There are other forums i visit which also have a for sale section but are specifically for items related to what the site's about.

Why doesn't it surprise you? Because, yet again, Esato members are getting to big for their boots.

Mobile free zone is a mobile free zone. Not a mobile free zone where you cant sell/discuss anything to sell whatsoever!

Why do we have to reach that?
I just opened a discussion.
Maybe i'll make it easier for you all:

1 - Do you agree with the current situation (FS threads in MPFZ)?

2 - If not, choose one:
a - Do you think it should be forbidden to sell non-mobile related stuff?
b - Do you think a "Non mobile market" section should be opened?

I guess i can't be clearer than that...
My answers:
1 - No.
2 - b. [addsig]
