What Ho!
I see the rumours of my demise have been greatly exaggerated!
The time has come to inform you all that this has been another of scotsboyuk's wee japes! I do not work for SE and I have not been fired. Nor was I the chap who dropped the phone at CeBIT.
I thought someone would see through it right away!
You chaps have been absolutely wonderful, I really do mean that. You are all such good sports and I could not possibly ask for a better bunch of chaps than you ... chaps! I extend my apologies for the joke being at your expense and my sincerest thanks for being so dashed wonderful!
Please do be on the look out for scotsboyuk's next jape!

I know this was all a joke, but truth is I can't see an employee being fired for dropping a phone. Obviously they are using that phone as their personal phone for calls and such, so the phone would be just as visible if that person were out and about and made/received a call.
No company should fire an employee if someone gets a sneak peak at a beta device. Once they have committed to testing it in the real world someone will see it, thats all there is to it. No matter how stealthy a tester is, someone will see their device. |

Oh look, there's Eldar from m-r! I think I will just walk past him at this trade show packed with journalists, with this top secret new product, that no one is supposed to know about, in my pocket. What a good idea it would be for me to take this phone out of my pocket right at this very moment ...

Whose to say he knew it was eldar? I wouldn't know eld' from Alexi Sayles to be honest..
Just like the small bits of laffen we've gotten to see, if it was accidently dropped in front of him you could use the same conspiracy theory..
... and you call me the stirrer! Bring me my french toast scots me boy!

All I am saying is that it was all rather convenient. As anyone who has seen me post in political threads here will tell you, conspiracy theories are not something I am fond of.
You can have boiled eggs and be glad of it!

who is to say that the person knew it was Eldar? You see a guy hangin around the stall taking lots of pictures and showing genuine interest, who appears to be a journalist of some sort... Oh oops, I dropped my fancy, top secret phone, hope that interested journalist didn't get a picture |

The problem I see SE having had is that Eldar wasn't fast enough to take a picture. We will know if it was staged if a picture of the phone appears soon.

regardless of whether anyone got a picture, it has sure ignited lots of discussion and drooling. I'd say that it was a success if it was staged, picture or no picture. |
