warez doesn't belong here as it is copyrited software offered illegally for download.
If esato were to allow it I'm sure they would be speaking to lawyers about every 5 mins due to copywrite laws and because the companies who were having their software ripped off would be suing esato's a*s for allowing it to be downloaded via links posted here .
@sngd, Sure free stuff is cool when legal !! , I'm sure esato doesn't need the grief and certainly doesn't promote illegal downloads, use a little common sense mate and stop moaning about it ! Do you want to pay the lawsuit fees ?

What sort of warez was he trying to post? Sure i've seen links to free stuff e.g java games on here which are free yet you would normally need to pay for right? surely thats not legal?

An illegal key generator for some media conversion software.
The mods usually pick up on links to warez sites but whether they manage to stop everything is hard to say due to the amount of posts posted everyday.

this post was my personal opinion. some people are not bothered where and how they get stuff. some people are grateful for free stuff as not everyone can afford to pay over the top prices for software.
some people are however happy to pay over the odds for every bit of software.
if they made the software perfect the 1st time we would'nt have to keep buying new stuff. do you really think that the cost of the software justifies what it actually does? companies make a profit income through sales because they charge at least 30% more where as if they charged 10% they would still make a huge profit.
as for the flaming...
do you really think a collection of sentences would actually bother me???

you're wrong.
the profits mostly go straight back into making it better than the last one, thats why technology has accellerated in this way over the last 30 years.
But do you think its fair that someones out there making software for a living, and then someone comes along and takes it for free?
I'm sure people will agree that we are all entitled to our own opinions, but this forum has rules for the reason that the majority of people are prepared to pay for something they want, not just take it.

@sngd: How would you like to get robbed? I'm sure the robber would appreciate the free stuff, But that in no way morally or legally justifies his deed.
Personally I think this topic should be locked. I think Mr. Sngd got his view through, and we to him. Further discussion would lead to flaming. I for one don't want to discuss this topic anymore, and wont be posting on this thread again.

@debu, well put!
Software companies do indeed make a huge profit, but where exactly do you think this money goes (apart from shareholders? )? I very much doubt that the company owner just fills a swimming pool with money and swims in it laughing maniacally!
Software develops - I'm currenly using an old laptop with Windows 98 on it, and also an even older one with Windows 95 on it due to my main PC being currently broken. Compared to the latest versions of windows, it's almost like being back in the stone ages! The development of programmes costs a huge amount, which is where a lot of the money goes I'm sure.
btw I'm not professing to be whiter than white here, Like many people here, I have had copies of software off friends, who themselves may have copied it from somewhere else.
In fact there's probably very few people that haven't done this from time to time, but the point is that Esato is not the place to post warez, or to advertise it due to it being illegal, and potentially gives the owners of the site a huge fine, or even gets them shut down.

i work in a national law firm. what does my place of work have to do with this??
as for what someone said about me greting bored. there right. i don;'t have time. like i said it was my personal opionion as was it to express your dismay at getting free stuff where you paid for all of yours. if you feel as though you don't want something because you think it is wrong just don't contribute.
although what many people said goes beyond opionion, one person however had the right idea in saying that he/she would not post another reply to this post. he/she obviously believes that not posting will have no bearing on mine or other peoples action. there's too much piracy etc for it to be swept under a huge rug, so we're stuck with it!
I personally will not be adding anymore replies to this post as i see no reason to do so because it will have no bearing on mine or other peoples actions (as i mentioned before)
