Even that will not work, i think

Setool users do not have retail version of firmware so we just wait for Z800i to be released then we will have everything.

Because the platform sends bogus messages while charging, that is why!!!..But why this change of heart?..We sense a charger connected, oops, we will not shut down after all!!!..*********************** UI BASIC, HOLD YOUR HORSES

Yes it goes a little faster, and now you can choose to use only GSM(battery life improves a lot) or GSM/UMTS(3G) this was not posible before, plus a lot of bugs cleaning, still not photocall though in this version.

The update on http://www.sonyericsson.com/s[....]7_x&zone=ps&lm=ps1_1&pid=10205
is only for Vodafone according to SE (I called them).
I know have R1J002 and I don't know if this is the latest or what I had before.
Not much of a difference so far... maybe a bit faster menues... =)

I can't get it to work. When it says 'initializing phone' it simply turns of my V800 and it never comes up again. When I start the update it says to press the '<" key and hit start but nothing happens.... because my V800 is turned off....

I did install the USB Flash drivers....

Any tips?

Try holding the < navigation arrow and hold the power button for 2 secs.

...thanks, it works now. I expected the phone to turn on during 'initialisation'....which it didn't.....

But pressing the '<' key with the on/off button worked....

No it will not. update service is set to only update the firmware already on the phone with a newer version. So if you have vodafone branded software, you will get new vodafone branded software.

Well, I've updated then. And to my great disappointment, I can now no longer set a separate MP3 for alarm sound anymore

Is weird I did have that sw version a couple of days before I flash and I could assign any mp3 to the alarm, sorry for that, maybe another update can fixed it.
