Well the email told me to call the call center. I called the call center and they told me to call the UK call senter and gave me (what I assume is) a UK phone # 08705237237.
So I guess no service for me since I don't think the UK call center will be of help.
Does anyone know how to get to the ribbon on the V800? Or how to take the phone apart? I might as well try it since the phone is useless to me as it is.

Im telling you strider take it to a phone repair shop...here in Canada we have repair shops for companies...such as rogers and fido...I took my p900 to my companies repair shop and although it wasn't a product they even sold..they fixed it... |

You maybe surprised! They may just help you if you use the btravelling businessman approach but this time tel tem you bought it in the UK...you have been posted outside of the UK for work purposes and now you are having trouble with the handset.
Their reply maybe: please send the handset in to us to investigate...but if you are tactful you may get a replacement if you stress you require this sort of handset for you job. There are ways around the international barriers, just use your noggin!
The number that was provided to u is the number that us UK people will have to dial, so u need to add the country code before the number to dial from the US.

Hi, just had my 4 mnth old V800 in to SE under warranty with signal dropping out when closed. Fixed in 2 days and the Repair Description read "Verified fault, reception drops off when flip is closed. Replaced coax cable, cleaned internals, and realigned contacts. Tested to specs all OK." In other words it was a hardware fault to do with the antenna cable. Good luck getting it fixed. |

hi,
I live in Estonia and bought a Sony Ericsson V800 from UK on a trip to London. It was nearly two years ago(so the warranty is obviously ended ). I have exactly the same problem, that Strider420, r_supp and lot of other people have had due to the bad design of the V800. Because I am short of money, I have to fix the problem by myself. However, because it is so common problem, is there a some consistent tutorial how to do it? Or a service manual for v800? And what tools are needed?
All suggestions and questions are most welcome!! |
