It did refresh every 15 seconds.
But I turned it off now.
This software: http://k700.hitziger.net/download.php?fileid=6 works on S700i aswell as K700i.

i don't know if this will convince you but here is a picture taken using this software from my S700. i was pointing at the monitor at the time so that you can see the status ("Status: Make a foto" appears just the time the picture is taken) the program does have some flaws however as it works 3 out of 5 times. but hey it works!

Okay. It seems that this software basically automates the process of taking photos and uploading them to a location. I have not tested the timer function, so I can not verify if the 15 second refresh is valid. I am still trying to see what makes this better than simply taking a photo and emailing it where ever you want send it. This way you do not need a computer to stay connected to the internet. It is a neat trick, but of little practical value other than to say impress your friends. |

Ok how about this..............
How about a web cam or a wifi security camera taking a photo of your property that refreshes every 5 secs or so.....
Now if you have this saved onto your PC running as a ftp server software and the web link on your phone it should be possible to check your house where ever you are.
Picture might be a bit small on some phones.
What do you guys think? |

there are many such programs..one of them is called tincam which i have and it's brilliant. not only can you set up your camera taking pictures at given time intervals, it even has a motion detection setting that takes a picture whenever it detects a movement. you can actually set the area sensitive to movement! you can send the picture to an ftp server, email or store it in your pc |

Logitech builds this functionality into ALL of their webcam products. Why would anyone leave their phone at home to take pictures of their house, when an actual webcam designed for this would make more sense? Don't get me wrong but this software is, imo, novelty software and is not practical in common everyday use. The cost of a webcam is far cheaper than the cost of an extra phone plus the expense of the mobile phone webcam application.

I totally agree, but I believe it's more to do with the fun aspect of it. |

Isn't this called and MMS? MMS seems to be much easier and cheaper to use.

i totally agree with sapporobaby. i mean besies with the advent of 3g, having a webcam would be useless by then. because the purpose of having the web cam anyway is for people chatting to see each other. with 3g this will become redundant. plus the quality of images/streaming would ne on par if not better than p.c's because there would be less data carriage interference because cell phone signals are dedicated to carrying that data as opposed to internet/p.c's where there's not much data dedication. |

Mobiola Web Camera Lite can make from all modern SE J2ME phones and Symbian UIQ smartphones a wireless webcam for laptop or PC. Application page here: http://www.warelex.com/products/webcam/ |
