He he, I was curious, so I e-mailed them last night...

----
Dear Sir,

1. ROUTE 66 Mobile 2005 requires a mobile phone with an internal memory of at least 4 MB, running the Symbian Operating System version 6.1 or later, with the Series 60 interface version 1.0 or later. These are the Nokia 3230, Nokia 6260, Nokia 6600, Nokia 6620, Nokia 6670, Nokia 7610, Nokia N-Gage, Nokia N-Gage QD, Sendo X and the Siemens SX1. Note that the Nokia 3650 and Nokia 3660 are NOT supported due to their limited internal memory size of 3.4 MB.

The Nokia 6630 is not yet supported by ROUTE 66 Mobile 2005 due to the fact that Nokia 6630 requires a new type of RS-MMC Card ("dual voltage"). However please note that this smartphone will be supported starting end of March 2005 when the dual voltage RS-MMC Card will be available.

ROUTE 66 Mobile 2005 does not yet support phones with the Symbian UIQ interface (such as the Sony Ericsson P800 and P900) and phones with the Microsoft Windows Mobile Operating System. These phones will be supported in the very near future! We will keep you informed if you have indicated interest in these platforms.

Please consult http://www.symbian.com for more information on Symbian, and consult our web site http://www.66.com regularly to see the updated list of mobile phones compatible with ROUTE 66 Mobile 2005.

2. Unfortunately you cannot import points-of-interest into the "ROUTE 66 Mobile 2005" application.

Thank you for your interest in ROUTE 66!

Kind regards,

ROUTE 66 Customer Support

Hey, looks like they broight out the UIQ version just for me, an hour after I sent the e-mail! Now that's customer service! Too bad about the POIs, though...

On the route66 website they list the uiq version as a kit including the receiver as well. I hope that they will supply it without the receiver as ive already got one and dont want another one.

Any news of this product? They now anounced it also in Germany and the tell that it will be available soon. Thats exactly what TomTom told at the last CeBit Exhibition 2004 in Hannover. Is it now available in the Netherlands?

I also wrote them an Email to ask if the software can be purchased without the GPS mouse because i already own one and if you can upload the software to the availbale 1 GB Memory Stick on my P910i. Waiting for them to respond.

wow looks very promising !!

at about £200 approx and includes everything you need, doesn't seem to be 'too' expensive.

includes bluetooth GPS / charger / cradle / memory card / software

just wondering though would it be like wayfinder, so that you have to pay GPRS calls or montly subscriptions, or would the £200 be the ONLY cost ?

The 200 pounds are the only costs for the purchased region. If you go somewhere else (on vacation) you will need to buy extra maps but if you don't leave you're region you don't have extra costs!

TomTom for UIQ isn't presented today (yet).
They added:

TomTom MOBILE 5 is in eerste instantie compatibel met:

· Nokia: 6630, 6600, 6260, 6670, 7610, 7710, 9300, 9500;

· Orange: SPV C500, E200;

· Q-Tek: 8010, 8020, 8060, 8080;

· Motorola: MPx 220;

· T-Mobile: SDA;

· iMate: SP3;

· Treo: 650;

· Gizmondo.

And they presented the new Bluetooth GPS module that you can wear around your neck, it needs a strap though!

Hi Nils7,

I've read your previous posts re: TomTom for UIQ both in this thread and another (somewhere buried deep in the forums!)...is this software actually going to ever be released for the P910i do you know?...just suprised that, looking at 'Mobile 5' compatibilty, they haven't added support for the UIQ handsets when these are big sellers in terms of hardware and third -party software?!

Thanks

Well they put it in the freezer before but latest news was they did release it.
The rumour was 3GSM or CeBit.

Don't know if it would be available any time soon. But if it is gonna be presented it's on the market before Q3!

This looks great, but will they be releasing a software only version at a cheaper price, as there a re a number of things included in the package which i dont need-
Memory Stick (i have enough of these)
Memory stick reader and writer (got one)
Car Mount (got one)
Bluetooth GPS (can get one cheap elsewhere)
Just seems a waste to pay that much money for a package with a bunch of hardware i already own.
