the joystick is an absolute joke in my opinion, its obvious SE overlooked it as it is junk and pathetic build quality, my K700 came with a off center joystick, nothing beats a good quality well designed D pad

I remember the pad on my Z600 - it was a dream! I really loved it! I don't get it, SE must have plenty of phones sent in with the joystick problem... why don't they use the great pad they have on Z600 instead...
...btw, (1) often when I push the joystick to the right, it registeres a click instead (2) the "ring" around the joystick is a little loose now after a few months and it's an annoying "cracking" sound when touching it while using the joystick!

Well this problem has started off from the t610/30(tho it was less serious then) and its a proper headache in the k5/7. The flaw lies in the basic design of the joystick...it has too much space for dust to enter and clog it up and a clean solves that effectively. My t610 joystick was cleaned by the service centre in around 30min and worked like new after that...no exchange etc required. My current k7 has gone 6 weeks now without even the indication of any trouble but i have a hunch it'll act up soon Another thing...is it just me or do you people outside india get pathetic service coz like govi even from my house the se centre is walkin distance n my problem was also resolved in 30min n durin the time i waited i was given a p910 to play with

A dream come true would be a K700i with a Z600 pad (instead of the joystick) and with a S700 camera... |

Why is it that ppl outside india is facing trouble with the service centre? Fixing a joystick clean takes only half an hour here! And we get to play with phones too!

joystick problems hm,very common for all se phones.I've already have the similar problems with t68i and t610. cleaning isn't good at any case.once they had to change my old joystick.

weird my T68i is 4 years old and the joystick is fine, but the K700 hasn't last 6 months, mind you the phone dosen;t feel as well built at the T68i either.
There was some mention of cleaning whats the best way to do this?
