Don't try it guys!!!
There was once that i went to the beach. I wanted to swim out to a platform about 30m from the shore. So i brought all my stuff with me, including my t68, and put them n my backpack. I even put my phone in a plastic bag and tied it up first before putting it in. When i reached there, I noticed that the plastic bag had a hole and there was just a litttle bit of water trickling out from it. The swim took me less then a min and the phone was nowhere near being submerged in water. It just got a little damp, but it died on me!!!!!
Anway, i took it to the service centre, they opened the phone for me and showed me that it was all corroded inside and that the warranty was void cos it was not a technical fault.....
I loved the phone so much i had to blow more cash on another one...
So, dun try this at home!!!

The damage is mainly caused by the salt in the water, when the water vaporizes the salt remains on the parts in the T68.... so that killed your phone, normally new phones can handle some water...

i was running with my nokia 3210 in my blazer pocket at school once. it fell out, went bouncing along the hard tarmac and landed in a puddle. i only realised 30 seconds after it had been submerged and battered. it was OK after a few hours.

Yes - there is a HUGE difference between slat water and fresh water. It would work in fresh water, but not salt. Salt water conducts electricity much more easily than fresh water and that would cause the phone to short.
