The ARM9 CPU 'CAN' hit 200 mHz... but I doubt SE will be ignorant enough to actually clock it at a speed that would give it iPaq times of 4 hours of run time.
I was hoping though that there would be a function to flip the screen into 'landscape' mode just like the R380. Viewing movies, Excel files, and some other things can look better on a wide screen (considering that it does support the 1/4VGA width of 320 pixels)
I hope SE can add a function (or a 3rd party app) to rotate the screen for landscape mode. |

I can hardly wait to get my hands on this great device! If only the design wasn't so poor! It doesn't look nearly as cool as the t68m/i or even the 7650, but it will certainly be the best smartphone you can get this year!

It doesn't say anything about MP3 playback either, but information about that feature was released the same time as the MemoryStick Duo information came out so it makes sense
Does anyone have a roadmap of when larger MemoryStick Duo's will be available?
By the way, thanks for the WhitePaper, very interesting reading. Please post more if you have them!

speaking of Ipaq's, I think that following the hewlett packer/compaq merger, the newer models are in the 400+ mHz range...fast huh?

It is not only frequency that matters, also the type of CPU. If CPU A can do 2 calculations per clockcycle and CPU B can do 1 then CPU A
need to work at 100Mhz and CPU B at 200Mhz to do the same amounts of calculations (=> they seems equaly fast for the end-user)

Guys, Ferrarista was right. A white paper is not a "derogative text." It's a treatise meant to inform customers. As a journalist, we also use the term for our authoritative reports. Thanks and have a great day. |
