@ IT2005: Neither of the above :) But back to the topic, Samsung phones are generally well-dressed mannequins. A lot of show and little substance, yet costing the world. Surely, we agree on that; dont we?

I agree that samsung mobiles are for the female gender, they care less of functions and base on the looks of a mobile....
I'll rather buy a samsung for my girl and stick to SE |

Better moto, minus the battery life bug thatz bitten me hard before. Moto produces well featured phones.

Motorola phones are ok. But as some one said b4, "if only they use humans and not aliens to create their menus."

@govigov: Yes, I saw that post and thought it adequately captures what most people think of Moto's user interface. The only moto I ever used that seemed the exception to the rule was the Accompli 008. Still remember it with nostalgia.

I donīt get what the problem is with Motos current menu system? It took me about a day to adjust (and to be honest 3 days before i figured out that i could sort the phonebook by name and default number so not to get one contacts numbers separated )
The older models on the other hand were a riddle even to phone warehouse salesmen

we know that the samsung phones are, even the D500 isn't really worth the money.
but what are we gonna do about it? samsung will continue gaining market share wile we wait for SE to introduce some new stuff. or
With Ericsson and Nokia gone: we must keep their spirits alive and buy JOLLA or YOTA |

@ThreeX: I havent played with the new menu, but the reports I read on the V3 are radically positive. Back to topic: One thing I did enjoy on the Sams phones I played with is the OpenWave browser. Quite good, in my opinion. Thatz one up for Sams in my books.

Never. One touch on the power button and you are back on standby. And while loading the screen, it shows white untill the whole of the page is downloaded. Not like se where texts come first and you can read them while you wait for smilies to appear.

OK, back on topic.
Itīs as simple as this: Nokia and Samsung are smarter than SE.
Say what, i hear you say..
They give the majority of people what they want! Itīs that simple! Obviously most people (and no, i donīt count visitors to this forum "most people") are quite content with pastel colored cute Gameboy sounding phones that are about as complex as a landline phone. Nokia has been doing the rehash ploy for years now, and that suits Average Joe and Jane perfectly, you still find every setting and menu item in its usual place everything is as usual, just a slightly different look and feel, not some scary SE or Moto where it takes you 15 minutes to find the SMS menu
And as long as Nokia and Samsung keep to this tactic they are going to outsell SE, not on quality or features, but on sheer " Ahh, these new shoes shure is shiny and new.. and feel just like my old ones- feel"
Thatīs my belief anyway.

@ThreeX: Your line is valid. But thank God SE & Moto are not toeing the Moto & Samsung line. People like me who valid advanced feature sets would scream like mad if every phone was like that.

Put it this way, for those who just want to sms and make calls, nokias and samsungs fit the bill. When it comes to high end phones, nokia takes the market due to symbian. As for the rest, Most of the n6600 buyers dont even know the extent to which these phones can be spruced. Which gives me the dumbs. What use is a p800 when all you use it is to sms(not even mms.) Call and take pictures.(not even transfering to pc.) There are ppl like that. (Samsung just says ''no'' when it comes to the above situation.)
