Offtopic but it has to be said: don't quote a quote who quoted the first post, Nitro Fan your last post was more than two full screen pages, you have to think for those on wap !!!!!!!!
I find it really annoying that replys that are targeted for a specific user is just under the post, use the "@ username :" instead !!! Or even edit the quote so it has one or two lines. Browse this topic on the wap and you will see how annoying it is ( even for those on pc ) !

This app works as far as finding my T68mi (but only when it's discoverable). But it then states that 'the audited device cannot be attacked" or something similar.
I'll try it at my nightclub tomorrow night as I have bluejacked a large amount of people from there.
Is this a dream or a memory? |

Why do you guys have to quote so much? :xx
Meth, you probably cannot do anything with those numbers and sms's, i agree with you. But that is not the point. The point is you are invading privacy. And that is not a good thing. I agree with you in another matter. You have given a choice to others. Those who think it isnt morally correct need not indulge in installing this app. You have made info to the public about such an app, and those who read this will be carefull, will be interested if this works or not

@mikLSP
Hi There
I find sitting on the fence a bit strange when asked if you condem “Bluesnarfing”, surley if the stated aim of the application and the activity known as "Bluesnarfing" is to gain access to data that does not belong to the person doing the "Snarf" it must be wrong it’s virtual trespass! Then you say it’s wrong if it causes harm? What if that the person being snarfed has stored pin numbers with identifiers? (stupid I agree) but I do know someone who used to do just that! as they could never remember exactly what pin went with what card!
With regard to your point on shredding, I genuinely do belive you should make every effort you can to destroy any mail that you throw out, I run a business that deals with much personal data and we do just that we shred everything that goes in the bins! I have to admit whilst I do not actually shed at home, I do tear up in small pieces any thing that goes out of my home, as ID theft is a very real threat nowadays.
On your point on phone numbers, what I find odd is why would anyone want to see them anyway? Perhaps just to prove to themselves and their confidants just how clever they are!
I have seen the devastation caused by all too many inadequate little hackers who thought they were “brighter and cleverer” than the rest of us, fortunatly most come to grief trying to show off,
the other poster on the thread who said hackers don’t give away their “magic” is only partially right, they do share their vile little offerings amongst themselves quite often, after all what the point of being the greatest code cutter in the universe if no one knows!
I have said many times before here, I supply developers all over UK, Europe & USA to fix the rubbish code so many developers cut so it is normally only a matter of time before what was a seemingly harmless bit of code become malicious! So just because it does not work now, does not mean it wont in the future!
We have many people on this site some of whom may be stupid enough to try and make the application work, tell others how to get it working, and then we are back to my original point it’s simply wrong in my humble opinion to “Bluesnarf” anyone it’s almost certainly trespass and very possibly ID theft
But if as you say your original intention of the post was to merely highlight the potential threat then good on you, but you should bear in mind there may be many here who are not as responsible as you.
I personally have no sympathy for those who would partake in or support any kind of malicious activity, as it is normally those who are least able to deal with the outcome that get hurt the most and in that respect, my views will never change.

sorry mate but sometimes you simply cannot discuss a serious issue in two lines! you are therefore going to hate my last response sorry but I feel quite strongly about "Bluesnarfing" it's not big and it's not clever...
I have owned the ... T68i T610, P800, P900, P910, P990, W950, P1, W960 But SE have now totally lost the plot. |

I agree expose flaws, and I am sure you would agree just dont use the flaws to trespass, steal or damage others property. Re making a T68 ring a number from your P900 I assume you would never add the cost of the call to someone elses account, as that is of course stealing!

It always amazes me the number of people who will still wander about with bt active and phone visible. Surely the easiest way to avoid being snarfed is to set to not visible. I'm still sitting on fence whether i agree to this code being available, but having read the site blurb I see what is trying to be achieved. At present the code is a bit of fun and illustrating it can be done. How long before this code gets copied, adjusted and used for more malicious means?

As I said I was, and still am, not convinced that there is a major threat from this.
I wanted people to see and try this app which supposedly "proves" Bluesnarfing is possible and see if anyone can actually make it do these things and hence get some proof that it's possible.
I have yet to see such proof as it just fails to 'exploit' any device.
Being a Forensic Science student I like to see proof about something before making my decisions and if something doesn't really exist there's no point getting bothered about it and so far I see no evidence that it's real!
