I could be wrong, but I believe SE have stopped the online firmware updates for the K700 because several users had reported bugs developing in their K700s.

@scotsboyuk - Hmmm . . . I guess it was resumed somewhere out there (I mean in the recent past). Oh, yeah the firware R2AA . . . was stopped, but how 'bout the R2L... one If so, then I guess the author will just have to bring his fone to the nearest Service Center . . . |

I thought it was the R2L software that was causing the problems.

@scotsboyuk - Out of the three firmwares: R2A... , R2L... , and the very recent R2AA... , of course the very 'stock' one (R2A...) gives the most 'trouble' of all. The R2L... was quite a refined of the stock one, then came the R2AA... which I 'GUESS' is the one which brought some disgust/'bugs (to the owners) - again ! |

I'm not sure if it was the firmware itself that was causing the problems, but I seem to recall there being sufficient problems with it that SE stopped it.
@dxcore
It is a moot point then. You will need to contact a service centre.

That doesnt look like a firmware problem, more like a hardware problem, take it to a SE service center asap and if its under warranty you can probably get it replaced
If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence of your attempt !! |

If no? How much cost repair that? Or (Argh!) replace a camera with new?

As long as it is under warranty then the repairs wil be free of charge.
