no cmos camera will display the quality of a ccd camera, but as far as you can push cmos technologie the v800 does a good job.

So it's obviously not the same 1.3MP cam as the S700 then?
Shame! But they probably couldn't fit that in the hinge
@ vlamm
about the v3 looks, that's a matter of opinion & many would disagree!

yeah, I thought my first pics were a bit blurry so I deleted them and did these that I posted with the self-timer so I could hold the phone as still as possible. I'm in London tomorrow for a while so will get some pics there too

S700i has CCD sensor whereas V800 has CMOS sensor.
The differences between these two sensors are:
CCD sensors produce clearer pictures than CMOS, not only for mobile but also for DSLR.
CCD sensors use to produce somewhat colder colours whilst CMOS sensor produce warmer colours.
CCD is a more expensive sensor than CMOS.

@McKinley
Thanx for the speedy reply... but like they say.. action is better than words... anyone can compare the same pic taken with both S700 & V800.. and regarding to maximum size.. is it the same on both camera? |

that's not true... there are very high end cmos cams that outperfom ccd.. it depends on the type of picture you want to take

So basically, with the V800 SE have cut corners to fit a 1.3mp camera into the phone.
Like the thread someone already created, why cant SE just create the perfect phone?

McKinley; It's not really the whole story...
All Canon's Digital System Camera's use CMOS sensors.
The S700 is sold as as a Camera phone, V800 as a phone with high res camera. (and the camera is more expensive in S700...) |
