That's what I thought, but if the phone is unlocked and you use it, are you in an ilegal posession?

Have u tried another sim card in the phone pref not same network as the phones on? PAYG sim card etc? I dunno but orange blocked my mates phone and it worked on other networks fine :-)

legally you have to return the old phone to your insurance company because they own it not you.

oh, like i said it's not my phone, it's my friends and it's with him.
And he asked me to check, and he's gone off to London, and although he's received a new phone he didn't get a replacement sim.
He'll be back tomorrow though.

it depends not all phones will be blacklisted!
from what i can gather, only Orange and Tmob have the power to blacklist handsets,
i dont think voda or o2 have that power? i maybe wrong, but when i last ckecked they couldnt.
so in theory you could just out your sim in and off you go!
it may not be that easy,
and as 50cent has pointed out, should the handset be blocked and you try and unblock it, you are breaking the law and could face a maximum of 5 years in jail and a hefty fine.
not all phones can be reprogrammed anyway1
