Neonode launches the N1 in Sweden
The Swedish mobile device manufacturer Neonode launches its web shop to the
Swedish public, November 1th. 1200 hrs CET.
So far the sale of N1 has been limited to Swedish pre order customers. The
reason for this has been to prepare the organization for volume production. Now
the web shop opens for the Swedish market.
The users of the N1 will in the same way as before be able to continually and
free of charge, download new features and updates for their devices.
Neonode offer its customers openness and independence. By giving the customers a
tool to develop their own solutions, Neonode challenge the old school of mobile
device manufacturers. Young people of today do not want to be led by a
predetermined selection of software and services. The N1 is therefore based on
an open platform, which gives its users full freedom to adapt the device to
themselves.
The open platform results in a constantly growing selection of third party
applications such as new games, with graphics never before seen in a mobile
device.
By opening the web shop, Neonode offers the customers to personalize the device
in connection to the purchase. The N1 could, for example, be armed with a 1 GB
memory card.
About the N1: N1 is the first mobile device with Neonodes unique, patented
optical touch screen, zForce and the Neno interface that makes the N1 to a
powerful entertainment unit.
About Neonode: Neonode was founded in 2001 and is an independent Swedish mobile
device developer, for a new generation of users. The N1 is the first device to
use Neonodes new technologies such as zForce. Today Neonode consists of 25
people stationed in Stockholm and is owned by its founders, staff and private
investors.
Please visit neonode.com for further information.

@leks thx very much for that post! The phrase old school of mobiles gave me the hope, that there are brands yet, who knows what a FONE means for me.

As reported on Friday Neonode opened its online store to sell the Neonode N1 today.
The Neonode N1 sells for 4400 SEK, which is about $620. Not a bargain. At least the Neonode comes with a free 64MB SD-Card. The Neonode is a Dual band 900/1800 MHz GSM Phone.
If you know somebody in Sweden you can have it shipped to him. More details on Neonode.

The K700i is just above 3000 SKR according to Pricerunner.se
IMO the Neonode is as stale as a day old Guiness..
IF it had been launched in time, maybe, but now, with the other phones available today.. naah.. donīt think so
