Yes, they have replcement (K700, K500), but they don't have any clam shell out yet!
And the phones are still quite new on lower selling markets like South America etc.

Remember how long they hold on to T68i!

@miss uk u might be right, hope t630 will last long with the fw upgrade - however no problem with the actual - and the usually upgrade with the latest will give the same result and long usage as at /// fones the re-grade with latest fw.

the t610 has had its fair share of the limelight. it feels a little dated relative to the new phones coming out. the z600 and t630 are more 'fresher' looking though.

but, is there a timeframe as to when they will actually stop manufacturing it?

actually its not thats strange. The new phones like the K700 (replaced the t610 and t630) and lower budget phones like f500 and s500 are selling well.

Well I don't think that the K700 will replace the T610/630 as intended, because ppl are still buying those. Others are already unloading their K700's by the boatload. The T610/630 is a mature model and a solid perfomer, while the K700 has been plagued by bugs since its inception. With a lot new models are coming out until X-mas the K700 has lots of competition. I just got my T630 yesterday. Good phones sell well and keep selling, while less good phones might sell well in the beginning, but then drop off the charts. You can still buy the T39 and the T68 after all those years, but will you be able to buy a K700 in two years? I doubt it. My new T630 says it was mfg. this year in August in China. So they are still mfg. that phone so far.

Indeed, t610 looks more exclusive cos of the alu cover, but the small keypad isnt for my taste. Wish t630 had the same alu in black. Z6 didnt impressed me so much, especially the design and the keypad, the last remembers me on panasonic gd.

but i'm kind of surprised at the move,(if it is indeed true) because other manufacturers like nokia/motorola have their old models (more than 2 yr old ones) still in production and still in the market.
is t 610 the oldest se in production (or is it t230... )??

In the first post is written that these models are probably discontinued. I interpretate is so, that their design wont fit the coming models.

I would be surprised if the T610/T630 has been discontinued, seeing as it is still a solid selling model although I can understand why SE would want to make room for newer models. A company's portfolio of handsets can be too big, remember all those different handsets require support and spare parts etc.

Does anyone know when the T610/T630 were launched and what is the oldest phone still being manufactured by SE at the moment? Is it the T28?

If people are still snapping up older models instead of newer, more advanced ones then that must tell SE they are not attracting customers with their new models.

However, I doubt withdrawing the older, better selling models, in the vain hope that customers will purchase SE's newer models, is a wise strategy because they can't be certain those customers will go ahead and purchase another SE handset.

I can't really say whether SE has a handset at the moment that can replace the T610/T630. The T610 is a solid performer and is a handsomely styled unit. The T630 as a slightly reworked T610 with different styling. I would be surprised if they hadn't considered restyling the T630 one more time. Another SEriccy makeover perhaps.
