no, locking and firmware updates are two totally separate and independant things

toythatkills; yup, leave your K700 switched ON at the start of the upgrade else the process will halt as it can't see the phone (even tho it's in the sync station).

As the upgrade starts, don't be alarmed to see the screen go off.

We know that a branded vodafone k700 can not be updated by online service but what about once when it is unbranded using other way for example logs. Is posible to use this service as if it was a real unbranded k700

@rasca, so far I haven't read that anyone has tried this but if it works like the P900 update then they now use IMEI to determine what firmware is required regardless of the firmware that is currently loaded

it wouldn't surprise me if the online update reloaded branded firmware but we'll have to wait and see
