This is great news - especially since my local SE Service Centre can't update the firmware of K700 phones yet!
Just have to sit back and wait for my work colleague Darren to get back of his holidays so I can borrow his DSS-20

Mike, just buy one. you can get them for under a tenner on ebay last time I looked. you are bound to use it for further updates to you K700 and subsequent phones

Two Questions
1. It say's i need (when running win xp) sp1, now i've got sp2 do you think there be any problems?
2. Do you think the k700 update will be here for good (has anyone seen any press release from or anything) or do you think its going to be taken down again?

1. I have sp2 and it went through the process (until it told me I already have the latest version) without issue
2. I was wondering that earlier too. Seems a bit of a weird way to deliver a service without really actually announcing it. So to answer that question... who knows really? we'll have to wait and see and everyone who has been waiting better get it while its available

Anyone know whether this works on an Apple Mac running Virtual PC??
Just about to buy a DSS-20 from eBay - should I risk being the first to try the update under an emulated OS??? |

I'm not too sure whether it matters what version of windows 98/me/xp/2000 you're running too much - it said I needed Windows 2000 sp3 - I don't have a clue what sp my windows is!
Sorry, no idea about Macs though @jools!

the url is the same as the p900 update except p900 is replaced with k700. so I would say it was found with good guessing

@invitro: Time it takes from the FAQ:
How long does it take to update a K700?
It depends on the circumstances.
Assumption: you have the desk stand with driver installed and at least a 0.5 Mbit internet connection.
Best case:
Downloading the device software: 7 minutes.
The actual update: less than 10 minutes.
Going through the service: 10 minutes.
Altogether: roughly 27 minutes.
Worst case:
Download and install the update service PC-client: 10 minutes.
Downloading the device software: 7 minutes
The actual update of the device software: 18 minutes.
Going through the service: 10 minutes.
Altogether: roughly 45 minutes.

thanks JoolsG3
Dovern: i`m still waiting... I think that maybe the problem is the syncstation... I have the dss-25 but it only works with the dss-20 drivers i`ll try to install the dss-25 drivers and try again.
please post if you got any progress |
