like i call vlammetje, vlamm, or bobafett, boba, and people used to call me dduk when i was daredeviluk but now call me vq or sometimes vanquish cos its easy to type fast!

Natural tendency is to shorten people’s names, for the reason stated (by another immensely intelligent Geordie) above and as an informal almost endearing way. Like your mother only calls you by your full name (if multi syllable) when you’re in trouble.

@methylated_spirit your logic is flawed. True, meths is a shortened version of your name, but then again Trigga was a shortened version of his. He never proposed to change his name because people were shortening it, but because they were calling him by something totally different. So you are currently calling him by an abbreviated version of an obsolete name.
Let the man have his pride and call him by his chosen name. |

I suppose I just like correcting people when I see a huge hole in their reasoning. Maybe I came off sounding a little harsh. Next time I'll throw in a or two to lighten the mood. Then it'll be obvious that its lighthearted.
At any rate Lynx is better, doesn't sound like he wants to shoot stuff now.

I reckon you should change is because as people are calling you meths, it will be easier to recognise a post of yours if your name is that.

Its entirely upto you. People will still call you meths so it wont make it any different. If you want your name to be the same as what people call you then change it (thats the reason lynx69 is back because when i was trigga people still called me that)
