I don't know if it's true, but a Japanese friend of mine said that there was a case in Japan where a school teacher was caught taking pictures with his phone cam of ladies wearing mini-skirts in a quite perverted angle, was sued and was charged a fine of a large amount of cash. If I recall correctly US$1M equivalent. If it's true, this sound may have been intentionally placed in an effort to discourage his disciples to do the same aside from annoying us.

I saw in another forum that you can solve the problem by taking the picture when you are making a call (for example, 1800---in US). I have not tried it out by myself since my firmware is currently R2E011. |

For R2A unit, you just just put the phone into silent mode and take pictures without a sound.

I have latest firmware and I cant seem to be able to turn the damn sound off. It is a bad sound and very annoying when you want to take pictures!! |
